Since I have an over-sized irrational fear of doing an endo over the railings and plummeting into the Potomac, I prefer the roadway.
I’m more concerned about getting whacked by someone who doesn’t use their turn signal going onto the Whitehurst ramp, tossing me to the roadway below and my getting run over multiple times.

ParticipantSadly, I noticed the Jersey barriers today but did not notice the missing stop signs. Shows how much attention I gave them over the years even when the ramp was open.

Funny weather affect this morning coming across the Key bridge. I was dry in VA, but as I looked out over the mist of the potomac, I was hit in the face with torrential rain. Maybe it was a few degrees warmer on the other side and that made it rain while it was dry in Rosslyn…
You must have crossed Key Bridge after 8:00am. I arrived at work in Georgetown around 8:00 totally dry, while a co-worker walked in at 8:20 complaining about all the rain. Capricious to say the least.

This is both amusing and highly accurate.

The boathouse foundation still would like to work with the county and the NPS to build a facility, using in part, that privately owned area.
I don’t understand the boathouse part of this. Isn’t this parcel of land land-locked with access to the Potomac blocked by the GW Parkway?

I think there is a group of homeless that are living on the other side of the fence. It has been there for quite a while.
I’ve only seen one person there, occasionally dragging branches up the trail from the river.
I think it may be private property. I remember reports a number of years ago about the owner wanting to build on the strip of land between the trail and the GW Parkway ramp. I don’t think this construction was what he had in mind.
