Might I suggest raising the like threshold to something higher than 3 to encourage more picture competition? It seems like it’s been pretty easy to get three. It might also encourage people to get a bit more creative.
Now that’s an intriguing idea. It might encourage more instances of when both people got a photo, both of them put them up, and leave of to the masses.
More importantly, if we go from 3 to 5 it would allow us to make another Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference. (One… Two… FIVE!)

ParticipantI don’t know where we’re at on all of this, but just in case, here is mine for Sherry Rowlands.
From the New York Times:
“In an average day, the District of Columbia police make 300 to 500 arrests, on a variety of charges, of men and women engaged in prostitution as either ”johns” or hookers. Yet a spokesman for the Police Department said it had no plans to bring charges against Mr. Morris over his reported frolics at the Jefferson Hotel, or to launch an investigation into whether such charges were warranted.”

ParticipantSo Steve-O’s photo of the memorial got 3 votes (I was one of them!) Where does that put us? As the rules reminder came later, are to the next one? Or is the National Guard memorial still up for grabs?

Participant“On June 2, 1919, a militant anarchist named Carlo Valdinoci blew up the front of newly appointed Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer’s home in Washington, D.C.—and himself up in the process when the bomb exploded too early.”
From: https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/news/stories/2007/december/palmer_122807A real estate article puts the address of the home at: 2132 R St. NW (now home of an orthodontist!)

ParticipantFrom the link: “Those who avoided participation in the draft came to be known as “slackers.”* Derived from the Latin “laxus,” the word was used primarily for nautical purposes prior to the war; a description for a slow moving current (e.g., a “slacker tide” or “slacker water”). Once the war effort began, however, “slacker” became shorthand for a range of activities perceived to be unpatriotic.”
Here is DC’s memorial to the “slacker” antonym, those who did serve, and died, in WWI.

ParticipantFrom Wikipedia: “Contemporaneous conjecture placed the book under the joint authorship of Clarence King,*John Hay*and Henry Adams and their spouses who lived side by side on H street in*Washington, D.C.*and were collectively sometimes called “the Five of Hearts.”
Photo is of the Hay-Adams hotel that now sits where their houses were… Thanks to non-Vision Zero compliant construction, I couldn’t get closer. [emoji852]️

Does a ride today count if the rider is in Florida but it’s not a snow day in dc so nobody got a snow ride? I’ll be back for any real snow days.
Nope! Though technically today isn’t a snow day, for the sake of constancy, the “No Snow Bird” rule applies–has to be in the greater DC area. That said, if I find out someone actualy rode in Michigan yesterday, a special prize is in order.

I’ve done it once or twice. I can do it if I have a partner who knows what they’re doing.

ParticipantRemember everyone! Today is Michigan Day! If we don’t get any OPM Snow Days, miles ridden TODAY will determine the winner of the prize.

I just got back from a week in Michigan, where we had some nice snow to ride in.
That’s fabulous! I just love the photos. Where did you go up there?

ParticipantFrom Rosslyn Magazine:
“The garage is inconspicuous at best, hidden behind a gray-bricked wall under the commercial office building at 1401 Wilson Blvd., off N. Nash Street. (pictured at right).* But it holds a unique place in American history.
In a dark quiet corner, slot 32D is the space where, in 1972 and 1973, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward would meet at two in the morning with “Deep Throat,” his secret source on the Watergate break–in.”

Like at least 30 people on this forum pass this twice a day. You can see the frizeman from a hundred yards when going southbound. It’s nearby Jefferson’s balding dome.
Nice! I’d guessed right! Well someone better get it before I make a special trip down there.
In other news I nabbed the Thirsty under Chain Bridge
