ParticipantMy heart is all in, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to make a “game day decision” tomorrow morning about whether we can do the ride. Mr. Kitty has been sick for the last two days and within the last hour I’m starting to cough. Hopefully both of us, or even just me can still join tomorrow, but it depends on how we’re feeling. I have an extra appropriately themed cycling cap that should be a ride door prize. Most moon cakes eaten in 10 minutes wins the cap? Someone think of something better…
I love that cap so much and covet the heck out of it. That said, I don’t think I should let myself bringe moon cakes… I will be happy for about 10 minutes, then get either really hyper or sick or both.

ParticipantHa! And now I’m leaving later than anticipated. Hopefully I’ll be there in 30 or so

ParticipantI popped my head out of my training bunker and realized it’s late September and after today I have no free Fridays until the end of October.
I’m packing my mug and hope to see folks there! (Alas, I’ll be on the early side and can’t stay too late, but oh well…)

ParticipantWe are 99% percent positive that we’re in! This will be a new mileage boundary, but he sounds up to it!

ParticipantOoo ooo! Let me see if I can talk Mr. Kitty into this. It might be a mileage stretch for him, but I think he can do it.

ParticipantGreat theme! Ghost Busters is a long time favorite of mine, and watching the recent film with an imperial pumpkin beer is my new Oct 31 tradition.
Alas, I will not be able to join the fun this year. My parents are coming to town and it may be the last time I see my dad before shipping out.
That said, this was easily the most fun ride of last year. Anyone who goes: You won’t regret it!*
*Unlesss you don’t like pumpkin things or halloween… then you’re SOL.

ParticipantHey guys! I’m also riding tomorrow and marshalling the full route. It is looking like somewhere in the middle of it will be Kali’s 10,000th mile! It will also be my last 50 States for a while, so I hope to enjoy it with as many folks as possible!
If I don’t see you on the route, then I can’t wait to see you at the after party!

Question about bags for a ride like this-
I haven’t done many of these longer rides. I like to be prepared with food, a rain jacket, maybe a change of clothes (and I’m riding there). What bag do you all use for this? This is the one ride where I make it a point to bring a bag for dry clothes if nothing else and emergency supplies (snacks, first aid kit etc.). I usually opt for my trunk bag because RACKS ROCK! :p

ParticipantSo its taken some wheeling and dealing, but Mr. Kitty and I are tentatively in for the ride portion. Hilariously our participation is dependent on wither or not we can be good kids and get our homework done before them. (He has a Portuguese final this week.)

ParticipantI’m just grateful to have caught the news now (thanks Erin!) Mr. Kitty has been hitting Curtis near-daily as part of his friends routine, and I think he’ll appreciate the heads-up.
As for the detours, these things are always a bother, but I’m looking forward to the improvements that will come of it! All the better if they can use this time to address the tree root bumps as well. [emoji6]

Maybe I’ll just go to the CC Fridays at the Fountain tomorrow and sing until someone buys me a beer to stop…

ParticipantFabulous! I’ll see you there!
I was toying with the idea of riding there myself, but I have to get home for something in the evening and opted to didn’t of the trunk rack

ParticipantAny takers on carpooling? If not I’ll see if I remember how to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.

ParticipantHey all! Sorry for not following up. I’m in the middle of a somewhat extreme job transition and my time had not been my own for weeks.
Anyhoo, all the more reason why I’m looking forward to biking to cookies! To that end, would anyone be interested in carpooling to get up there? I’m not super-great at navigating the area by car.
If I can my bike could catch a lift, that would be awesome/ideal. If not, I have a rack that can carry two and wouldn’t mind a navigator.
Let me know!
