    Yowza!!!
Eight riders today even with the big snow (and the day’s not over yet, you other two). Way to go, team!

We have put some space between us and the 9th place, Revolution 9, team. (Seems with their name, that’s where they are supposed to end up anyway.)

We are within definite shooting distance of both the (Un)Lucky Pr1m3s and the Falling Down team.

A couple of 10-rider days while they are sippin’ hot choc and we’ll have ’em.

Wow!! You are my heroes. Seriously, what’s your secret to riding in the snow??? My tires just seem to skid out. Again, great job everyone!

We need to pick up Fithsparo. He’s been heroically doing short sleaze rides despite his injuries. But we need to let him convalesce.

If the rest of us will just add 1-2 miles a day–a little extra detour–we can make up 100+ points a week. And definitely get at least the 11-point minimum every day. We’ve fallen to 10th and are being mocked by the BiPolar Bears, so it’s time to show them what we can do!

Get well Fithsparo – you’re an inspiration. I’m back in the working saddle again so to speak and will do my utmost to get in some extra miles this week. Thanks for the encouragement.:p

    Hi team,

I’m usually at Java Shack on Fridays, but this Friday (Jan 30) I can make it down to Swings. I realize this works for some but not others, but if you are a sometimes FCCer or FCC virgin and work in DC, come this Friday, and at least a few of us Busters can meet up.

Then next Friday (Feb 7) I’ll be back at FCCII, which I think can work for toonces, PP, me and kdugan with rockford as a maybe. Everyone welcome at either or both (except phatboing).

I’ll also think about an after work meet up which is better for Rockford–especially Thursdays.

PP – is ccfinger following this thread? Don’t want him to miss out. Tell him to log in at least every couple of days to keep up with goings on.

BTW – we were given a new team member, windy roads, but I don’t think he is paying attention. I have PMed him and put a comment on his Strava feed, but have heard nothing back.

Lastly, we keep battling it out with those annoying Bears, so try to do at least a sleaze ride every day.

Will definitely be up for next week’s coffee. I think I’m gonna have to use CaBi, at least temporarily, while I get my bike fixed at a shop; haven’t had success fixing it on my own. Going to shoot for sleaze rides at the very least.

    Hey all,
Some of the other teams are getting together after work for informal get togethers. Seems like a fun idea.

Reply and let me know what days of the week are good and what days of the week are bad.
Alternatively, we could meet at one of the weekly Coffee Clubs.

    Let us know your thoughts.

I’m lucky in that I live and work in Arlington, so Java Shack or Shirlington would work best for me. As for outside meet ups, my schedule is pretty unpredictable and changes week to week so a couple of days notice will help me to participate. Maybe the Arlington Loop or Hains Point for a group outing?? I’m game.

Sounds great. Want to meet at 1:00 pm on Monday in front of the Australian embassy (1601 Mass Ave. NW) and go from there? I might also try to do some Hains Points laps before or after — or both! — if anyone wants to get some more miles in.

Also, not all of the countries in the Australia and Oceania group have embassies in DC. If anyone knows of places where there are mass flag displays — travel agencies, visa offices, international student centers, etc — please PM me. I know of a couple, but I’ll refrain from posting them here in case those dastardly other teams are trying to steal our ideas. ;)

Looks like I have a conflict on Monday :( but next weekend I am free and clear. I will however try and check out some local Brit places that might have flags around.

Yay new team standings and welcome Christopher and Fithsparo! Hoping to make up for my missed days through the 8th with some extra mileage. Komorebi, I’d be up for Embassy sweeps and/or a potential ride on Monday afternoon (may or may not make it out for some laps on Sunday at Hains Point – will keep the list informed) as I will be out-of-pocket on Saturday.

Hiya everyone! It was great meeting folks at the happy hour last night; look forward to meeting to the rest of the team for a future ride/get together. I admit, being an FS newbie as well as a relatively new cyclist, I was a little nervous about joining a team but felt immediately at ease last night. I can already tell this is gonna be a lot of fun. My apologies for not tracking on Strava previously; I thought the happy hour was the official kickoff – oops, lesson learned. As for cycling, I just gave up my parking spot at work about 2 months ago, so I am committed to bike commuting and also enjoy social rides as well. I too am low on gear e.g. no special studded or grippy tires, but I have warm clothes/layers and a desire to bike as much as possible through the winter, so here goes:)

As for the name, I am pretty open to any and all suggestions. Here’s two more ideas – Team I-Cycle, Team B-icicle:p

Nice addition to FS2015. My stats were sadly not much of a surprise: 5 foot 2, 180 lbs, BMI 32.9 obese. Bonus though – I will have a slight advantage, at least initially, riding during the contest as well as extra insulation for the cold:) Onward and upward from here though.

    Hiya,
My name is Kristina Dugan, and this will be my first time cycling thru the winter months. I started bike commuting full time 2 months ago (thanks in large part to all the encouragement and inspiration from WABA’s Women & Bicycles group) and thought Freezing Saddles would be that extra nudge to help get me through the cold weather ahead. Plus, a little competition never hurts either;)
