ParticipantGlad to know I wasn’t the only one questioning the sanity of riding home tonight. Once on the bike though it wasn’t too bad … until I turned west on the W&OD!

When you say it’s been fun, it sounds like you’re done. I hope you know we have another month and a half to go! :p
Yep, well aware there is another month and a half to go, problem is I’ve got another two week out-of-country business trip starting Feb 10th and going through Feb 22nd. While I’m devising ways to get on a bike (watch Strava for some interesting locations) I don’t see how I’ll get to 500 miles in Feb.
Think we could convince the Gods of All things Freezing Saddles to allow for a pinch-hitter (or pinch-cyclist in this case)?

ParticipantYou all are motivating people. I just passed 500 miles for the month. I know that some of you routinely have months that are double that (and thankfully one of those “some of you” is on Team 10 with me!) but for me that is either a new, or close to new, record. It’s been fun. Thanks!

ParticipantMost of the weather sites also have the T-storms rain starting in force at 6pm or later. Good excuse to head out of the office a bit on the early side.

ParticipantReally? I know where I’ll be tomorrow afternoon. If anyone has a Custis/W&OD report from tomorrow morning please post!

All teams over 1000 miles
And a rider or two (Rod, Chris and the one man team of Dirt) who nearing 1000 miles as well!

A good time to take the loooooong way around and pad your miles.
Thought about that but the temp/wind combo make that kind of unappealing.

ParticipantSome rides in are better than others and today’s was simply awesome! DCV said Giddy, I had termed it Giggly by the time I got in. The Ogre proved a great tool for the job.

Me too and by the the time I hit the Custis Trail I was trying to figure out to how unzip my various layers with my fingers ensconced in huge ski gloves and my teeth, which yes I admit to using for this purpose, hidden somewhere under my wool buff!

Hey, I’m probably the candidate for that at the moment but I had to go to Hannover, Germany to find some snow to ride in!

Reunited with my usual westbound Bobs this morning … blonde woman jogger on custis near spout run, tilted head walker with beard on custis.
Ha! I totally know these two. Titled head guy is my clock. I know if I am early or late to work depending on where I see him!
Glad you are back on the bike and I’m sure to see you on the trail once I’m back in DC.

The battle for the top spot is sure HOT! And it looks like team 9 is busting more than just bollards!
Sadly, it appears that Crit My Pant’s streak of perfect attendance will end as KayakCyndi has some business related thingy that will keep her off the bike (don’t want to violate her privacy or security by disclosing what it is, the rumors are that she’s a super secret government agent going on a clandestine mission to ensure world peace). That’s not to make excuses why team Crit will slip out of the lead, especially since my wimpy and sickly body keeps slapping snooze in the morning and I’m definitely not pulling my weight on this challenge, but whatever.
It will only be “super secret” if I can’t get my Garmin Edge to work from me tomorrow morning when I plan to rent a bike and explore in my few hours of downtime!

Ditto but I have I the Elite (does that make me ELITE?). I put it on December of 2011 and haven’t taken it off except for once or twice when I thought it needed a cleaning. Might be purely physiological but it gives me a little peace of mind when commuting in DC.
