    I hope:

    1. At least one of them goes to the next happy hour.
    2. I arrive at the happy hour on time, instead of late like in July.

I’ve only been riding since May – no cycling experience before that. So it might be a bit early to go for a more “custom” bike like the Volagi, but it’d be nice to talk to a Volagi owner. I get how some peeps may not like the geometry or whatever, but I’m part of the target market for the new generation of road bikes that are designed to go on a variety of surfaces (gravel/sand patches, asphalt with tree roots underneath, etc.) instead of perfect pavement, and also allow for upright riding position so the rider can more easily scan for unexpected traffic conditions (cars, pedestrians and rogue cyclists darting out of unexpected places, etc.). The Volagi frame reminds me of the Specalized Diverge, which I also don’t have a problem with.

What I do know is that the bike I have now isn’t a match for me. Chainring tooth count is low, maintenance is difficult, etc,.

Will reply back shortly with the usual praise for the Viaje but I’m currently out for a ride …

    Until then:

Definitely! Chris your task is before you. Go forth and scout gravel. I’d be so IN!

The ArlCo trail truck pulled up just as I was leaving so I assumed they were on it. vvill posted a pic of guys with chainsaws a few minutes ago so it is probably already cleared.

The Rove is at Bikenetic being boxed up this minute and needs to be on the truck tonight. That leaves me with only the Giant Transend hybrid and vintage Raleigh road bike to ride until I leave for Kyiv.

That alone is evidence that your departure is drawing near …. (sad).

Blame. It is definitely blame. dcv’s forum name should really be Instigator.

I am starting this thread because I am hoping those with more information will fill in the details. I have heard rumors, but exact date time and place are not to be found here on the Forum.

Also, this would be a good place for fans and supporters of Kill Bill to organize another KBSR (Kill Bill Social Ride). I’ve heard at least mild interest from sarahybillington and wheels&wings. rcannon, Tania and others were awesome last year. Perhaps they want to spread the joy again.

Although her exact intentions are constantly hidden behind a fusillade of “no comment”s, I hereby appoint kayakcyndi as Senior Advisor Emeritus to those who are interested in organizing the social ride.

    I maintain “No Comment”.

But here is the route I used last year for the KB Social Ride. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4528775. We didn’t stick to it exactly and in fact ended up going down into Rosslyn to watch the group on Fort Myer Drive near Iwo Jima. Regardless, it should be a good starting point for planning and offers many meet-ups with the core group and also took in multiple refreshment stops including:

    – Heidelberg Bakery
    – Italian Store
    – Public House No. 7
    – Frozen Dairy Bar

Pete and I used the Apple Stalker ap “Find my Friends”. I could always see where he was on the course and could time our arrivals/departures to ensure we’d meet up with the core.

There are a few times where the main ride will make multiple passes of a street or neighborhood. These make great viewing/cheering locations and include:

    – Powhatan early in the ride (i.e. mile 2.1 on my cue sheet).
    – Jay Miller (26 on the social ride).

    Other not-to-be-missed handup spots are:
    – The top of Quantico
    – Cheering the up Mt. Daniel

I hope to see everyone out there in some capacity!

Bob, you do not need a shuttle to Harper’s Ferry.
