Note that this is jurisdiction-specific. To do this in DC, you can open a 311 ticket either via Twitter or the website. They also have an app if you’re really into it.

While I appreciate the offer and think DC Bike Party is great, I would not be in favor of you all taking over FSLNHPP. It’s a Freezing Saddles party, not a bike party – the whole point is to celebrate the last day of being obligated to go ride your bike in crummy weather. Having a bunch of people there who didn’t go through the competition together just doesn’t feel right.

For the last time, no blinky lights on MUPS! Admit it, or I shall punch you a second time!

Ineligible because I forgot to go at least a mile (I rode more than a mile TODAY but not this particular ride) but I figured it would be appreciated here. My general contractor had someone “borrow” his 4′ ladder and we needed to cut a hole in the ceiling, so…

Also I always love the weird perspective of the cargo bike up on the kickstand.

One of these days I’m going to write a plugin for the Freezing Saddles website that automatically changes “Bollard Busters” to something creative. But I can’t think what that creative thing might be.

I’m not on your team but hope to run into you all riding (not literally).

I hate this, but I think it’s the right call.

I can’t see how having or not having the ROW justifies the actions of the ped in this scenario.

It doesn’t at all. The pedestrian clearly could use professional help. However, I have no use for the type of person who injects him/herself into an established community to complain about an admittedly terrible experience, misrepresents events to avoid taking any personal responsibility, and then leaves, never to return.

Did the car traveling next to you also fail to yield to the pedestrian? From your description it sounds like you should have stopped, but that his reaction was completely insane

Have not done it for travel, though have always been intrigued by the idea.

Most recently, my wife had to change travel plans at the last minute and be at the airport very early so Metro wasn’t an option and she left our car in the garage. I biked down to pick it up later that day. Wayfinding is improved from the MVT but still lacking once you get close, and they definitely do NOT want you going into the garage with your bike.

Previously I returned a rental car there and biked home. It took me literally 20 minutes to find the trail and that was after asking someone at the Metro station.

I’m coming from NW DC – about 7.5 miles one way. That’s a hike on CaBi, especially with any kind of luggage, and I’d be hesitant to leave my bike locked up at the airport for multiple days.

I would try Proteus in College Park, though I can not personally speak from experience on bike fitting. They’re just good bike people

Seems like closing the right lane to cars would solve most of the problems. At all but peak times I can’t imagine there’d be conflicts except with inconsiderate jerks, and there’s no way to engineer away inconsiderate jerks
