ParticipantThe Ben Franklin Bridge is a pretty sweet piece of infrastructure with some solid bike/pedestrian aspects.
There’s two wide, raised pedestrian/bike walkways alongside both directions of the bridge. 676 goes along it, and also the PATCO rapid transit line. Things that I like:
- Wide — doesn’t feel like you’re going to fall into traffic, like the Teddy (it’s wide enough for a car, if you look closely at my picture you’ll see a compact police on the ped walkway)
- Raised — you’re well above the highway and the train, so you’re a little isolated from all the noise and smells
- Convenient — I think the only bike-able option to cross the Delaware south of here is the Cape May/Lewes ferry, ~118 miles away (I’m planning out a big loop for the spring). You do have the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge about 11 miles north though
I want to see the zipper machine in action, so I’m going to have to spend some more time up there.

Couldn’t find a classic like Superstars. There’s a pair of white Adidas high tops on the bottom row, between some Nike high tops and a yellow pair of shoes. I figure the three stripes is the primary form of their logo (I’m considering the trefoil logo as another one, but it incorporates the three stripe motif).January 20, 2021 at 12:05 pm in reply to: Freezing Saddles 2021 – Daily Photo Scavenger Hunt #1109804josh

At the end of the game it is the total mileage associated with your park rides divided by the total number of parks. You only get credit for one park per ride.
Thor, I cannot tell if you are showing up on the leaderboard (be sure to place #parkfinder in your title) but you can see how everyone is doing by checking here: https://freezingsaddles.org/pointless/hashtag/parkfinder
Thor, time to start cropping/splitting your rides in Strava if you want to be competitive. Gotta minimize your miles per park. Or more effectively, don’t tag your rides until the last day or so, so that others remain complacent.

Gotta love the supervillain! Mural is at 5th & Cecil B. Moore Ave (who himself was a civil rights activist who forced the integration of Girard College), and the artist is @busta.art (according to a Reddit comment). I think he’s of Nukak-Makú (a Colombian indigenous people) descent based on some of his work.January 17, 2021 at 11:29 am in reply to: Freezing Saddles 2021 – Daily Photo Scavenger Hunt #1109500josh
