These are a bunch of SEPTA trains in the rail yard, wishing they had the golden hour lighting the buildings did.

3/2/21 – Little Free Library (with your bike in the pic!)
I went out to capture a LFL (charter #45661 I believe), got back, and was ready to upload to this thread when I remembered that the bike needed to be in the photo. So I had to turn around and head back out and I snagged this one instead:
It’s charter #41268. I almost missed it at first because it’s a repurposed pay phone. I also couldn’t figure out how to open it, so I’m either super dumb or it’s locked at night (with maybe another couple potential options too).

You’re only about 22km away from an official Little Free Library (charter #3700)! We all know that’s nothing compared to your typical ride distance this BAFS. You’d better hope drevil’s not too much of a stickler for his own rules.

Only used a few times, it’s just too long for me top to bottom (I’m 5’5″-ish).
Older model without the padded laptop insert although it does have a removable inner pocket.
Pick up in Cherrydale or in Merrifield.
These are dope! I had this exact model, it’s super waterproof and simple. They work well for someone 5’10″ish in height. I accumulated too many bike bags and gave mine to my little brother, which I’m now regretting.

#LakeFinder – Pond at RedGate Park, which was a former golf course. The Rockville Bike Hub would love to see a velodrome built here! Does anyone know how to get this started or funded?
No idea, but just chiming in that a velodrome in the area (even if I’m no longer there) would be awesome! There was a CX race last year (well two years ago I suppose, but the last functional CX season) that was a fun use of the property.

3/1/21 – Pig or BBQ Joint
I figured I’d go to Reading Terminal Market to find Philbert the Pig. I was going to grab a sandwich for lunch from a vegan deli I’ve never been to that’s there, but I cut it a little close and flatted (too much broken glass) on my way there, and I didn’t want to risk being late for a meeting. I ended up squeezing in a trip after work ended and before the market closed — no sandwich though

I decided I shouldn’t rub his snout under the mask, but posing with him would be acceptable.

How much of mechanical components can one use to integrate with these electronic systems? Will the front and rear derailleurs from the electronic groupset work with my chankset and cassettes?
I don’t have a super helpful answer considering that I’d ask my shop to take care of something like this. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s hard to find something like an eTap derailleur or shifters that are 10-speed, considering that now there’s 11s and 12s. It might be worth upgrading your crankset/cassettes (the latter of which might mean new hubs/wheels?) for wider availability of 11s parts. Hopefully I’m wrong, and you can easily source 10s components and save some cash though.

Does anyone know – if I find two parks in one day is it okay to use one of them for credit another day? I know you only get credit for one per day.
I’m pretty sure you can visit multiple parks in one day, they just need to be on different separate rides (the Strava split tool is your friend).
camiller;204113 wrote:I share your problem of seeing a lot of different parks on my rides. Some people like to stop and restart their rides to use each park in a day. Others decide on capturing a single park for the daily ride. Because of the different ways people approach the #parkfinder I have two different awards – most parks and most average miles per park. Personally I don’t like to stop and take a picture every few feet or miles so I just pick one park (or public art, or history sign or wormhole etc. a day). Of course my parks finds don’t count since I am sponsoring the prize. I am just in awe at all the parks around us, some in our own “backyards” that we did not even know were there until we started looking for parks. Also, I think the rules are the same as last year — and this is from that rule set, which is included in the first post of this thread:

This is about as boring as it can get.
I will say, I’m impressed that a mattress store can afford downtown/Center City rent. Mattresses must be super marked-up.

I’m hoping that playing to drevil’s true passions will yield an extra point or two– here’s KIMBAll Street.
IMBA is the International Mountain Bicycling Association, and is focused on trail access. MORE (the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts) is the local (for most of you all) chapter, and I’m sure many of you have ridden on some of the trails that MORE has built — Lake Fairfax, Fountainhead, the Shed, Patapsco, Fort Dupont, etc.

No idea what she’s doing in the middle of an empty fountain, in the center of Rittenhouse Square, carrying a duck.
