ParticipantThis bike has one. I don’t need no stinking hints. But I did have to use the interweb to figure out the meaning of flickstand.

ParticipantUm, don’t forget about the Roper too! I found out about it two weeks after buying my bike. Maybe someday.

ParticipantHopefully this is a better camera than a smartphone. It has GPS and the Android app store. Strava and bike computer apps make it pretty cool.

ParticipantFinally saw Mr. Dirt, just North of Gravelly Point. He looked hungry, lucky for him the planes were landing.

I must have been asleep. I usually hate all humans before I’ve had my second cup of coffee.
Is that the cure? I have to start drinking coffee.

ParticipantAnyone use these yet? I’ve tried the Halo headband and Headsweats liner. Both work well for an hour in the Summer. The first time I tried the Halo was on one of the many 100 degree days. I could feel it slowly get over saturated about 30 minutes into the ride. Then at the top of a hill I put my head down and yuck. I just keep misplacing them. Just bought a Specialized Echelon helmet and it has been great without a liner or headband. Must be the all the vents and better padding than my old helmet.

Embrace it! Add some orange cable housing and it’ll look great! I’ll definitely say hi next time I see you.
Uh, do I know you? I just added orange brake cable housing.

Back to the Cross Check. Whats with the Bar End Shifters?!?!?! I know tourers like them because they need less adjustment, but seriously, I would love that bike if it wasnt for those.
I ended up with the Motobecane CXX because of cost, not crazily located shifters.

My only complaint about the Vittoria Randonneur series is that on some rims, they fit REALLY tightly… like “they are so tight they will break any plastic tire lever if you get a flat” tight. It isn’t a problem with all rims. I had it with a set of Velocity rims and a set of Mavic CX33s. Others seemed to be okay.
I had that problem with the Randonneur Cross tires on my old bike. I think I broke a finger or two in addition to a few tire levers. The install/removal of Randonneur Pros on my current bike has been really easy. Not sure if it is the tire or different wheels that made the biggest difference.
