Don’t worry Gillian, it’s easily moved. You’re going to like the way this looks.
I liked the monkey monument better. We need a picture of some ELITES doing that when it’s completed.

Was out walking the dog this morning and encountered the W&OD snow blower at the shelter just west of mile 9.5.
Yes that’s it! Unfortunately it didn’t do much good over the route 7 bridge.

ParticipantIf your on a mountain bike, the horse trail is pretty fun to ride up and down across buckthorn. Every time I go through there I keep meaning to go into the brush and see if the old railroad tracks are still down in there.

ParticipantSaw the snow blower machine in falls church on the W&OD so hopefully it should be cleared all the way to vienna by tonight.

ParticipantI can’t remember what the problem is, what were we talking about? Bikes are the solution, not the problem. Sorry, it’s just my automatic response whenever I hear this…

ParticipantI caught up with him later down the road, and he said I was taking up the entire lane, in a very annoyed tone, then sped off. The weird part is that I was speeding, and he still felt he had to cross the double yellow line into oncoming traffic to pass.

I always thought that was just a maintenance access road! (and had debated trying to use the exit myself once or twice.)
Speaking of the bottom of Virginia Lane, I assume that since I am going downhill and there is no stop sign, I can make a left on to the trail without stopping. True, right?
Great question! The only reason I would stop is if there’s a car turning onto va lane.

If I wanted to document bad behavior, the intersection at the bottom of VA Ln would be a good place to do so.
You mean like this?

Do any of the people who ride with cameras have crazy ivan clips we could assemble for nvrpa?
It would also be nice to get some pedestrian footage of being passed silently, by being yelled at, and with a bell.
Yes, I have all of that but I’m not going to spend hours and hours editing video footage because, according to nvrpa rules, I ride a dangerous and illegal motor vehicle on the path

Discs are awesome. I’ve had two BB7
I’ve never heard the “pulling wheels out of dropouts” thing before. Sounds urban-legendish.
Same here, I have bb7 and never had a problem, although once I did notice that the skewer rotated a little once. Tightening it as much as you can resolves that, I’ve never had them move since tightening up…
