I bought the ROCKBROS bikepacking bag after hearing advice from a friend. I am pleased with the design and construction of the bag. I haven’t used other seat bags, but the construction seems to be on par with the (much) more expensive bags out there. The material is nice, waterproof nylon. No zippers on this, which is great. It is quite stable on the big when packed properly. Even under a heavy downpour, I can rely on this bag. It features a roll-type closure to keep my stuff dry at all times.

Thanks for the review, I have been looking at Rockbros, definitely cheaper. Glad it is holding up. Is it the seat or frame pack? Need to get gas tank – rev mag looks good

My first cabi/citi bike ride. At first it felt like a tank, but then you enter a state of serenity, and actually enjoy the slow upright pace. Who knew bikes could be fun and not modern tools of torture!?!

First off, it doesn’t look that bad. Second off, you’re commuting, who gives a crap what you look like. You could dress up in a gorilla suit and you still look better than half the people you pass. Function greatly outweighs fashion. If it works, than keep it. One thing though, find a way to leave your shoes. They are heavy and space eaters. Also, don’t be too quick to look for a new bike. You will go back and forth five times on the backpack/pannier thing. You can always use a road bike for commuting but it is kind of hard to use a commuter to race.
Besides, it sounds like you’re married, what do you care what people think about how you look!

After hitting my favorite farmers market for 50 fresh clams and couple dozen oyster ( mind you, $4/doz) on my faithful Schwinn Topedo, my little bunny and I gobbled up some warm sticky buns and cinnamon dounuts by the dock.

I’ve been trying to get APS to do the same. Jason, do you want to lead the effort? I can put you in touch with the people in DC who made it happen, and the Phoenix Bikes people who could (hopefully) come up with a maintenance-in-class plan, as well as supportive people in APS and ArlCo staff and leadership?

Thanks for the offer. We set up a maintainance class with Steven from Phoenix last year. It went awesome. He is a great guy, that was able able to teach a bunch of kids a ton of information. We will be doing it again next year. As for now, I think Greg, rule10, and I want to focus on our school. Last year the school approved us to install a maintenance rack next to the bike racks. the kids designed it, and will be building it themselves….now the hard part, doing it.
    Thanks again

Ok let me edit that, and think about it. It does sound like a good idea, that could make a real difference. Let me to talk to Greg, he is the real biker, I’m just his fat sidekick he waits for on hills. Hmmmmmmmmmm

I’m less concerned with the stolen bike and more concerned with the fact that my boyscout handbook clearly states your business needs to be taken care of at least 200 feet from a water source. New Yorkers will pee anywhere!

I think they start on trainers in the gym (don’t get excited Tim, no tabatas just balance and familiarity). Then they move to the parking deck, Custis and eventually the street.

Also, as Tim said up there^^^^, BA has offered to come by the school any time. We have also stopped in for some bike edumacation. Also, we sent a couple kids to, sorry I forgot her name Z-something, for bike education classes. These were high school kids who were never on a bike. They wanted to learn before the P.E. bike rotation, to join our bike club rides.

Gold, Silver, Bronze or Terracotta, I have no idea, but at W-L bike education is part of P.E. and I can assume the same is true for Yorktown and Wakefield. Heck, our P.E. teacher taught me to put my arm in a ‘L’ position for a right turn,,,,or was it left? Forget it, I’m going back to pointing

Nice crank. 261 power, with an 178 aveHR! Nice job pushing yourself! Would that technically be zone 6?

Plenty of whack jobs did Monster Cross on unicycles last year. They looked absolutely beat by the end, both mentally and physically. I have to imagine each inch is a grueling chess move. Power to ’em. I think my longest was three seconds before tipping. I should try it drunk, maybe they would negate each other,,,, or at least hurt less.

I did that once and now I have a nice studio to myself and can watch all the football I want.

But honestly, I have done the bath before, fortunately it is a basement shower. If you are going to do it in there, be ready with can of comet and stiff brush or you will be watching all the football you want. Every slight little scratch in your tub will be nice grease line, but it cleans right up, so doable.

But Come to think of it, in the garage I have used two filled buckets on rainy days. One soapy, one clean. Not the best, but certainly worked. With one of those park chain gizmos and warm water bottle with a nozzle, a can of wd40, all’s good.
