Actually, there were lots more people than just those listed here.
Interesting side note: although we all went to Bob & Edith’s afterward, I believe I was the only one who actually ordered pancakes.

Monday was I think my second Friends event this year, but this is apparently the first time I’ve been on the Forum in fifteen months.

    [bump]

May 20 is just outside the range they’re recommending events be cancelled, so far, so for now I’m proceeding as though the Ride of Silence will occur as scheduled. This is, of course, subject to change as we get closer.

Again, though I have ideas, I welcome suggestions for meeting location and route.

Make sure your settings allow the app to run in the background. If you don’t, it can “stop” working properly when the screen goes blank.

Also, how was your battery? The second in particular looks like my RideWithGPS tracks when my phone’s gone into battery-saver mode.

Shoulda thought to share this here sooner:

@VTNCR @VTMURP students are studying dockless e-bikes and -scooters in @RosslynVA and their impacts—whether you’ve ridden one or not, please tell us what you think.

Take our survey (by 4/24): https://virginiatech.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3rbQgnbDKeFwaUZ

I and Planning classmates at Virginia Tech’s National Capital Region center are studying dockless devices—yes, they’re mostly scooters now, but we’re also interested in thoughts on dockless (e-)bikes—so if you spend any time in Rosslyn, please take our survey and let us know what you think of them.

The survey is anonymous, but there’s an option at the end to enter your email for the chance to win one of four $50 gift cards as thanks for your input.

It was on my bike on Tuesday right on the top tube closer to about 3pm. I was stunned when I saw the pink slip, but who knows how it got there? Do you think anyone at DC DMV will have a sense of humor?

More specifically, it’s dated ~10am. It’s possible in the intervening hours it blew off to or was thrown away near your bike and someone else stuck it on the bike….

    Whoa, congrats!

I’ve got another event that evening I was planning to go to…in Silver Spring…. Fortunately it doesn’t start until 7:30, so I may still be able to show up on the early side.

    I have made it… I think. Where’re y’all at?

Despite this, I *still* forgot to register… [emoji849]

On the other hand, i guess at least I no longer have to worry about hauling myself the entire length of the district at absurd o’clock on a Saturday morning…
(I was not a morning person even _before_ my partner started working until midnight five nights a week…)

    Two things:

    1) The main dcbikemap.com has been updated with working turn-by-turn directions.
    2) I’ve pulled fresh cuts of data from the jurisdictions for a new version of dcbikemap. Anybody willing to scroll around and do some spot checking? I’ve got an e-mail in to Alexandria because their data is wildly out of date.

    Draft new version: http://dcbikemap.com/2.html

Looks like some DC stuff is missing, too. At a glance, new sharrows on Kennedy St NW, bike lanes on Grant & Sherman Circles, new lanes near DC United stadium…

Even when I’ve refreshed the app immediately before taking out or docking a bike, I’ve experienced several occasions where I earn fewer points than what the app showed. I chalked it up to there being some sort of lag between the app and traffic at the docking stations. Since the points are an added bonus for my ordinary use of CaBi, the discrepancies haven’t bothered me too much.

oddly, i’ve gotten more points than expected on a couple occasions, when I’ve taken a Cabi+ out from a station that was showing a point available for bringing bikes in. I expected to lose a point then, but didn’t.

I did get the email notice of my free week of membership almost immediately after reaching 20 points for September–within hours, certainly.

Arlington’s Shared Mobility Pilot … would limit all providers to 200 vehicles per mode with the possibility of asking for increases in 50 vehicle increments as long as they can show each vehicles is being used at least 3 times per day, with a hard limit of 350 vehicles per mode.

For reference, Bird currently has 500+ scooters in Arlington and is seeing 4 to 5 trips per scooter per day.

DC’s dockless pilot is capped at 400. How does Arlington intend to enforce a cap that’s lower than a neighboring town’s? (Never mind that it’s lower than what’s already there…)
