I think this was a ski and hot tub theme, Boomer! I have a friend who regularly documents their antics.
Indiana – I just got back from the Orthopaedic office and no fractures were found ❤️. I’m just pretty banged up – ribs front and back, probably a groin pull (ouch), bruises on my knee and shoulder through many layers, and a smooshed helmet. Everyone should always wear a damn helmet. You can really get hurt even at slow speeds with all the crap out there. I’ve been okayed to continue knee PT as tolerated and continue to take it very easy until I heal.
One of our teams lost a member who was hit by a car 😡 so I’ll probably be joining to sleaze my way through. Please keep me honest to recovery. I didn’t initially join a team this year because I always overdo it with the night riding. But maybe this sleaze pattern will mostly hold.
Safety, long term health, and sanity trump saddle points, for sure. Take good care and heal well. Safe riding, everyone!

2/5/23 Apolo 14, late submission
I was going to just take a photo of the moon, but Zeus was playing golf with it. Decided to do the Moondog sculpture – National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. When I got there the moon came out – eye roll. See photos on my painful ride (actually not that bad. Trying to turn over in bed and get on the bike is hideous though!). Still not sure exactly what’s going on, but I haven’t been taking cardio aspirin or diphenhydramine to sleep in case of TBI. The short, easy ride felt nice.
Catching this late, but hope you’re feeling better!

2/04/23 – Barbie Day
I rode to the Barbie Pond on Q Street, NW in DC which always has a seasonal theme; perhaps today was “polar bear plunge” [emoji3166]?
P.S.
The Interwebs says that Barbie was invented, launched and has her birthday [emoji512] on March 9th???Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The internet wasn’t in full agreement on which day was Barbie day but you all celebrated well

Custom mailbox
In my neighborhood there are very few mailboxes on posts. Mostly there are slots in doors or plain metal rectangles mounted beside the door.
This house, though, has a lovely wooden one that matches the wood of the door
I saw a wooden one like that as I pondered the statistical probability of finding a custom mailbox in NE DC over the last several days. 1 in approximately a zillion? If this counts, I should go back, if only I remembered where….
