Participant2/27 Lodge
Sometimes in bouldering you need to lodge part of your body against the rock/wall to get in the right position to move on

Participant2/25 cool “eye” graffiti near Union market where the bike lanes end randomly at a weird unpaved parking lot where at least one person appears to be living so I didn’t get much closer

Participant2/25 dryer
Hopefully Newton Street NE will be dryer after the crew finishes. There’s been a small river bubbling up through the street since the weekend when neighbors first reported to DC Water and 311. Picture of first work truck that arrived this morning in Strava.

Participant2/24 beautiful mural at Bluebird Sky Yoga in Brookland on 12th St NE DC
A wonderful yoga studio that also has monthly art talks showcasing local artists

Participant2/24 gland
The cats and raccoons were too fast for photos tonight. But dinosaurs likely had glands! Maybe not sweat glands, but probably nasal salt glands. Plants can have glands, too.

Participant2/23 otter
One of my favorite Christmas movies I watch every year, “Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas,” directed by Jim Henson, shows Muppet otter Emmet picking out a Christmas branch instead of a tree. Last I saw, Emmet was on display at the Smithsonian American History museum but today’s ride just got us to this tree

Participant2/23 like @Heidi Rausch saw great street art on 14th St
This is the Buck Hill mural, perhaps still DC’s tallest, at 14th and U Sts NW DC
artist: Joe Pagac
Cool story about the jazz legend who also delivered mail: https://wamu.org/story/19/08/27/d-c-s-newest-and-tallest-mural-honors-a-local-jazz-legend-who-was-also-a-mailman/

Participant2/22 cream
“I’m So Glad” I’m not “Dreaming” when I say if you’re “Stepping Out” for some Fresh Cream and a “Spoonful” of sugar for your “Strange Brew,” get the Disraeli Gears on your Wheels of Fire cranking over to Zeke’s coffee shop at the “Crossroads” of Rhode Island Ave NE DC and 22nd, where you can sit in the “White Room” with large windows and bask in the “Sunshine of Your Love.”

Participant2/21 clove
I c’love the murals around town by artist Miss C[he]love. Bonus is “her multicultural background rooted in the tropical mysticism of Java, Indonesia,” since cloves also originated in Indonesia
(Wait, do you not turn “could love” into the contraction “c’love”?)
