The Hill is generally pretty bike-friendly (avoiding certain roads like Penn. SE, Independence SE, C and H St NE).

In fact, when we lived on the Hill, we found the bike lane infrastructure to be pretty much the best in the city. Sometimes you have to go a block out of your way, but it’s still far faster than ducking pedestrians and getting into confrontations with stupid people. Especially in an area where there are so many people out that it’s difficult to “share” the sidewalks. If you bike in that area often, consider checking out all of the different bike lanes that can get you where you want to go to avoid this type of fun in the future!

Also said hi to Honeybadger6 (not on a bike) just before today’s coffee club rollout.

Yup, I was the non-cyclist who was late to a meeting and didn’t care anymore. Sad truth – Had I been on my bike, I probably wouldn’t have been late. Damn you cycling gods!

Fantastic time last night! Thanks to all of you who volunteered/worked the event to make it such a great evening! I think TwoWheelsDC is a little upset he didn’t win any of the raffles… but he’ll be back on the forum soon enough!

After several drinks, and I’ll buy them for you, will you care?

Everything donated goes to improve the biking experience in this area!!!!!!!!!

Ha! TwoWheelsDC doesn’t drink, so that won’t work… (But I do, feel free to send them my way! And no, I don’t care, I think it’s a great cause and look forward to losing our joint checking account in the name of supporting DC area cycling!)

Picture gets real big if you click on it. It’s Tim’s fault basically (the one eating popcorn). When you upload a photo to the forum, the software makes it a tiny little picture that is really easy not to notice. The big pics you see on the forum are from pics already on the web that are simply embedded. I like the big pictures better but we dare not ask Tim to change any of the settings (he has too much popcorn butter on his fingers).

I hope that girl has finally caught her bus; I am sick of seeing her.

In all fairness, that girl is *clearly* not flipping you the bird but is, in fact, raising the roof. Even if you looked at that tiny little picture, you still wouldn’t make the connection.

Legit casino games (as in, for real money and requiring a temporary gambling license), or mock casino games? If I’m going to spend $45 to get into this gig, I better be able to lose my life savings at the blackjack table as well.

You’re the most frustrating attendee ever! If you click on the link, which has been provided no less than three times in this thread, you’ll see the invite even says, “REAL casino games…” On the plus side, it makes me feel better to know I’m not the only person you ignore… ;-)

It was nice to meet some of the fine BA folks last night. Lots of laughing is always a good thing. Thanks for the lock share DBB. My bike goes from secure to secure and I did not think to bring the light lock until I was already rolling.

Tim’s quote that goes along with the stash combing was good.

I have one concern. It is nice to have Honeybadger6 on the board but I am worried about the other 5 honeybadgers. As we all know “The honeybadger’s really pretty badass.”

There are no other honeybadgers. I kicked all their badasses out of town already.

I hate it when that happens. I will also be digging something out, but my closet and I have a love/hate relationship these days. Mostly because all the *cute* clothes are blocked from view by various hanging jerseys, bibs, etc… Thank goodness the time is almost here when I can put away all the winter gear. Who knows what kind of cute sun dresses may have been hiding behind THAT mess!

Also, I’m still not convinced I’ll be riding in whatever I dig out. Perhaps CaBi from the metro station…

Not to be a girl about this, but what’s the dress code for this thing?! Bike parking and little black dresses do NOT mix in my mind! Admittedly, I’m fairly new at this..!
