ParticipantI want to play!
*2017 Goals*
Freezing Saddles! And try hard not to fall off my bike
DONE!
Find a bike that doesn’t make my hands numb after the first mile
ALMOST! Instead, I got new wrists that don’t make my hands go numb after the first mile, even while riding the same bike
Continue commuting at the same rate even after my commute doubles when we move
DONE!
Beat my previous long distance ride of 45 miles
DONE! OK, 47.1 miles is technically longer, but there was a baseball game in the middle of my ride.I’m also pretty pleased to have beaten my 2016 mileage, even with 4 months off recuperating from carpal tunnel surgery
For 2018, I hope to
Continue to not fall off my bike during Freezing Saddles, while sleazing a little less than last year
Bike 2000 miles (keeping up my current pace year round), with a stretch goal of 2500
Beat my previous long distance ride of 47.1 miles
Bike faster on my commute (thanks for the idea, lordofthemark), aiming for 12mph, which is a giant leap for me**I hit 13mph as my average on my commute home yesterday! Not sure how that happened, but yeah, me! 1/11/18

ParticipantUnfortunately, I’ll be working that evening. Everybody have a beer for me, please!

ParticipantI’ll make sure reji sees this, but I have the feeling she’s not planning on racing.

ParticipantI’m glad to hear that all is well now.

ParticipantOK, I’ll bite. What happened?

ParticipantI hope to be there, although reji will be out of town. Should she win any heavy prizes, I will pick them up for her.

ParticipantBummed I missed the first two that you infiltrated, but pleased to meet you last night.

ParticipantI am so bummed we will be out of town this year. 2016 was my first ever Bike to Work day, and I was really looking forward to this year. Darn kid graduating from college! Maybe I should skip that…OK, maybe not.

ParticipantNot new to me, but better than I remember. Sadly, it tasted more like rye than the bread I used for my Reuben sandwich last night.

ParticipantTastes almost a little sour. I like it.

ParticipantPretty tasty. Dark roastiness. No smell of wet dog, so the name is a bit of a misnomer.

ParticipantNot chocolatey, but malty. Got it in a snifter, because they were out of stout glasses. It’s decent, would have it again.

ParticipantNo grapefruit at all. Robyne says floral, but I’m not sure I’m getting that. In other Dog Money beer selections, I commented on the Red Ale, described as a “Great entry into the world of craft beer,” by saying ,”I guess I’m not a novice. It was fine.” The Barleywine Ale doesn’t taste like 11.2%. Goes pretty well with the beer mustard and fries.

ParticipantMy ex must not be that bitter. Quite nice. It seems to me that by brewery #4, my Untappd comments are getting shorter and less descriptive. Wonder why that is?
