ParticipantThat is my understanding. It’s a VDOT project, so there’s always a bit of mystery.

What’s the e-mail address for Arlington Parks and Rec? Happy to send them an e-mail since I benefit so much from the trails being cleared.
Best email for general inquiries and thanks is trails@arlingtonva.us

ParticipantArlington Parks and Recreation staff let me know via email that they’re back out with snow clearing equipment, so Arlington trails should be in solid shape for afternoon/evening adventures and commutes. Send them all the thank you notes! Or send them to be, and I can forward.

ParticipantThis is a content repost from the other threads about SPAM, which I would like to, but have been infected with a laze…
We’re in the process of moving to a system where newly registered users will not be able to post without their content being reviewed by a moderator within one business day. This would stop current users like yourselves from seeing SPAM, and would hopefully only be a minor inconvenience to brand new users.
Thanks for being part of the forum, and making all the awesome conversations about biking happen. Keep doing your thing, and know we’re working on it.

ParticipantHi y’all. Henry and I both have the metaphorical keys as your forum moderators. There have been a few threads about SPAM recently, and I have been aggressively moderating new registrations and banning users who post SPAM content, but as drevil notes, they’ve been registering at night, and over the weekend, when moderators are less active, and it’s tough to keep up with click farms.

Custis covered in snow, but very passable – many cyclists had used it alreadyAgreed- with photo evidence.

ParticipantAs noted above, it’s something we’re exploring.

ParticipantWe get a notification each time someone reports a SPAM post, and appreciate all folks who take the time to do that. The ones hidden in real threads are harder to spot, so special attention there is great. But go ahead and report any spam you see. Worst that happens is I check a link multiple times, and get the satisfaction of having already dealt with someone.

ParticipantJust wanted to make sure folks had seen that this film is up on Demand Films.

Looks like they need folks to register in advance to make sure the screening happens, so folks who are interested should make a click!January 8, 2018 at 2:15 pm in reply to: https for this forum website? (might help with spammers…) #1080686Erin Potter
ParticipantWe’ve solved some of the issues we were having with the forum (such as receiving notifications), so have been better able to deal with spam issues. We tend to get a spike over the weekend, when, admittedly, we’re both less likely to be paying attention to email inboxes and notifications. We’re also working on how best to improve the forum, and appreciate all the users who have offered suggestions. Feel free to email us at info AT bikearlington.com with more thoughts!

Custis from the S Curve to Rosslyn had been brushed a second time since the early AM commute when I went by at 10:45 am. A dusting of snow on the brushed part of the trail, but all very rideable. Toughest part of my ride was getting to the trail, riding on snow packed down from car tires. No ice, even on the overpasses. So far, so good.

ParticipantHas anyone had eyes on the trails today? We’re getting folks asking on social and email if they’re pre-treated for the PM commute.

W&OD Trail Work – Soil borings near Sparrow Pond
From my inbox:
“Between 12/14 and 12/22, a contractor for DES will be doing some soil borings near the Sparrows Pond stormwater facility. There will be a trail detour in effect while they are doing the soil borings. Because there are two parallel trails there, the detour should not be a major inconvenience for users.”Looks like W&OD will be closed at times, which will route trail users onto the Four Mile Run Trail. At different times, it looks like the Four Mile Run Trail will be closed, which will route trail users onto the W&OD.

So, I can see the general discussion forum… and search for it. I’ve asked vBulletin for help, and will let you know what I hear.
