I’ll post some pics when I try this out next month!

I need an official ruling, please. Will my miles on these Ski Bikes count for Freezing Saddles?
(say yes)

Hi Team!
I am one of great Freezing Saddles Diaspora Riders. I did 2 seasons in DC, and relocated to Colorado Springs for FS18 and FS19. I am sorry to miss the coffee mornings, Team9 fun rides, and all those local capers. I sponsored the Doughneuring Prize for the past 2 years, but not this year. I am a daily rider, if not a very high mileage one.
This year I am sponsoring a Pointless Prize for Out-Of-Bounds coffee rides–looking at you, Robert S in Seattle. #FS2019OOBCoffeeride.
I am out here in the mountains, but with the Team in spirit! Please let me know if you travel to Colorado this winter!
Ride on Chillers!

While you were all enjoying beer and falafel at the Happy Hour, I was out with the Pike Ride team (Colorado Springs bike share) cleaning up a section of the Shooks Run Trail.
Lots of junk, socks, rotten pumpkin, plastic, beer bottles, a baby swing, a ruined bike, part of a cooler, jeans, more litter…
Here is the gang rolling out.
One guy hauled out a gross blanket, Tina with another full sack,
and the “After” shot of a section I cleaned up (I got that little red thing after I shot the photo!).
No amount of editing and rotating results in the photos upright, sorry.

Coffee Riders,

Please see the new OOB Coffee Pointless Prize just posted in FS. This one is for you, Chris, and Phil, and Bob, and anyone else outside the Great DMV. Also those of you who are frequent flyers, Karen, Kitty, Greenbelt & bikenurse…

Great organization, as usual. Thanks for handling all the behind-the-scenes work so the rest of us can just have fun.

I regret I will only be there in spirit.
I shall raise a drink in Colorado to FS and look forward to finding out what Team I’ll be joining. e

Posting the Pointless Prize Winners for the Paul Revere Midnight Riders Pointless Prize Contest!

Thanks very much to Judd and others who transported my prizes to the Bier Baron and presented them to the Winners for me!

For those who did not follow this New-in-FS18 Pointless Prize, it recognized riders who procrastinated until the 11th hour to get a ride in for the day, or those who rode right after Midnight, to get a ride in really early for a day. The Third category is for the Rider who did the most 2-fer rides, knocking off a day after 11:30 pm, and then immediately riding at least a mile at 12:00am the following day. The rides had to be within 30 minutes of Midnight, and be the only ride recorded for the day. Thanks to hozn for crunching the Strava results for this!

The Winners are:
Most Midnight Rides Overall Winner: HF W of Team 17
Second: Helen Huley of Team 18
Third: Kris Nessler of Team 17

And the Amazing Winner of the 2-Fer Prize is: Ben Johnson of Team 10

If you didn’t receive your prize (various sizes of Revere ware Silver plated bowls) please see someone on your team who attended the Happy Hour, or Cynthia wheel&wings to trace where it ended up.

If anyone has pics of the prizes being received (or worn on a head), please post. Thanks!

Hi all — I know that some folks had talked about going to Bier Baron tonight (March 21) if they could make it there safely.
I just wanted to confirm that Bier Baron will be open tonight until 9 pm in case anyone is still planning to venture over there for an informal happy hour.

Have fun, be safe, and drink an ounce or two for me.

Chime in if you are going, I am pondering driving in if I know some FS diehards will be there informally ending the fun. Kate

Hi,
I will not be able to fly back, so regret for me.

Is it possible for one of the Tech Gurus to Skype me in on the 9th? I would like to be able to award my prizes virtually, if someone can arrange this. Let me know. I am very sorry not to see so many of you this trip. Let’s hope for better in Freezing Saddles 2019!

Riders,
If we can’t get Happy tonight, I will not be able to fly back in spring. Someone will have to award my Doughneuring prizes and the Paul Revere Midnight Riders prizes. I did ride all 78 days (again).

Be careful of the Metro alternative, the website is advising that the Metro and metro buses may be closed or severely impacted tomorrow. K
