ParticipantVery interesting! There are 7 or 8 New Deal sites in Colorado Springs. One is a bridge that seems to have been removed many years ago. There are 2 murals in the City Auditorium– which is closed to the public now as it is serving as a Covid-19 isolation hospital overflow ward. I will try to get to the other sites so DC can see what the rest of the country got back then.

ParticipantSorry I cannot get to the east coast for this exciting event. I’ll ski a few runs in honor of the Happy Hour that day. Enjoy!
And eat more doughnuts. eEdelweiss

I appreciate the enthusiasm, the beautiful photos, and the yummy accompanying pastries!

ParticipantI am very sorry that I will miss this Party.
Chuck will announce the OOB Coffee Prize in my absence.
Let me know if you ever visit Colorado Springs, we can meet for a ride and an extra-regional celebration.

ParticipantChris,
I think this was #61, not 6.

ParticipantChuck!
I am only asking about the actual Bicycle rides. My skiing has been recording separately.

ParticipantHi Tech Gurus,
I have ridden every day, but the leaderboard shows me one day short. The dropped day was probably in early February, at least that seems to be when I stopped turning green every day. I am not missing big miles, but the Team won’t mind if my day’s point are restored. I just want credit for everyday riding– I’m up here at 10,000 feet in snow and ice, earning my Freezing Saddles cred, and have not missed a day in 4 years.
Thanks! Kate MOEdelweiss
ParticipantLook what I found after skiing today at the Ice Castle in Dillon!

I couldn’t resist sharing this with you all back in balmy Washington.
Then I posed with another sign…

ParticipantA very windy ride over to the Yellow Mountain Tea House for the Most Amazing and Delicious Dumplings! Also a very nice tea brewing ceremony.
We chose Beef Steamed Buns, Chicken Dumplings, Bean and Chocolate Buns, and Xiao Long Boa. Every one was excellent! So very much better than the first place I tried! Hannah especially liked the Bean & Chocolate buns. The bone broth soup Xiao Long Bao was delicious. Will come back here oftern!

Review in a word: YUM!

ParticipantIt was warmer here today, but a hellacious wind had whipped up over the mountains, causing havoc on the trails. Sticks are down everywhere, but a large 2-trunked tree blocked my way here:
I tried to move it for a while alone, I did clear a lot of branches, and then this guy on a bike, he was wearing a Broncos shirt, on came along, and between us we dragged the tree trunks off the trail.
The wind got worse and worse, dust and grit blinding me, and more than one grit-gravel facial forced me to turn around sooner than I had planned. K

ParticipantI rode to a nearby place I have never tried, enjoyed a small cup of Hot and Sour soup (good). The dumplings took a looooong time to arrive, but we’re on a little bed of salad with a nice dish of sauce. The steamed dumplings were average, minced pork in wrappers. The sause was a good addition. Now I need to seek of better dumplings.

ParticipantWe count all the miles we ride downhill, often not pedaling. Gravity is a big part of riding. What if a kid is on a balance bike? No pedals, but still riding a bike, right? E

ParticipantI say it’s the same as coasting down a hill without pedaling. What’s the dif?
