That’s what I need, Dirt, and a bike with a step-through frame.
When added to the crop top from the summer riding clothing thread, it would become quite an ensemble.
Dirt
ParticipantThe National Weather Service just listed the heat index at 119 degrees.

With my MM, I can brake outside of the mitts. Can you do that on the drop down version? I need a solution for my cycle version.
Your hands just slide into them. The back is open. There’s no need to use the brakes from the outside. Does that answer your question?
The Bar Mitts are difficult to work if your hands are not inside them. They’re also a little more difficult to get into.

For the times I really cared about walking around in bibs, I just throw over a lightweight pair of gym shorts over them. Problem solved

Dirt, do you have the drop down version? I have the older version for my hybrid and love it. Is so warm I don’t even wear gloves sometimes.
I have the drop bar version of the moose mitts. I also have the drop-bar version of Bar Mitts. Both are great. The Bar Mitts are probably warmer, but the Moose Mitts give me more options with how I grab the handlebars.

ParticipantCool day in the tour today.
Dirt
ParticipantI’m more of a crop top kinda guy.
Dirt
ParticipantI’ve never found a glove that can handle the temperature range of the moose mitts. I love thinking about cold stuff on days like this.

I had planned on a longer run but I wasn’t feeling it.
This is a big key to riding and running in this kind of weather. Make reasonable plans for what you’re going to do outside, but make sure that you’ve got a safe bail-out option that allows you to cut things short or get somewhere safe where you can relax and cool down.
Dirt
ParticipantIf I recall correctly, there’s a reputation feature that allows you to add to or detract from a user’s reputation based upon feedback on posts.
Dirt
ParticipantCool! I’ve heard about Headsweats, but never used one.

You get some great shots Pete.
Thank you.
I always commute with a pack. It adds a bit of heat, but it makes life easier at work.
Dirt
ParticipantWhen I compare my commute to a friend’s commute, From door to desk it takes me about 10 minutes longer to go by bike… That includes taking a shower and changing clothes. My ride is about 16 miles. It is less by car.
Dirt
ParticipantI kinda mentioned before that there is only so much that you can do with clothing on hot days. The whole idea with clothing is to get moisture away from your skin so that it can evaporate and cool you. At some point, the amount you sweat overwhelms what can evaporate off. That happens pretty quickly when it is triple digit temps and high humidity. There just isn’t very much evaporation going on. That threshold happens at a different point for all of us.
Be wise riding in stuff like this. Drink plenty of water. Be careful when you go into air conditioning too. 30 degree temp drops that happen quickly can make you a little light-headed.
