The Germans seem to love them; you’ll find them in BMW/Merc/Audi/VW

You’ll find the occasional bike component held on with Torx fasteners as well, although I swear you could take apart an entire BMW with one Torx driver.

If you’re just challenging yourself you could also create private segments.

I wonder when Apple will start making watt meters and cycling computers?

long time ago before gray hair and common sense I was hired to demo the front and insides of a small food store. The automatic front doors were the old school type with a radar type people sensor. I noted it set off a coworkers Escort and an idea formed. It was built to run on the 24V control voltage of the door so I rigged it to run on a couple emergency light batteries also scavenged from the store. We would drive around and light up on coming traffic watching the cars hit the brakes.

Certain third brake lights will set them off as well. Additionally now you have the cars with radar-based active cruise control, so there are those false positives… people just need to learn proper speeding behavior. It was simpler back in my day… (4 years ago when I sold my car)

I don’t believe it. I do believe that the church would just ignore the process.

What I’m suggesting is that DDOT should have explained to them a year ago that because this is in the greater public interest, it is going to happen. Period. The cycletrack will be built as it should be, protected, through every block of M Street, and these are some nice folks who will help any displaced double-parkers find somewhere close by to park. But that didn’t happen, instead they decided that one morning a week of convenience trumps 24/7/365 safety for cyclists.

It must be hard to go through life like you and Tim. That perspective is making me dizzy. Come back down to earth with us normals!

DDOT has a TDM program, and to not notify the church in advance and have their TDM staffers work with the church to find parking is just unfathomable. I don’t know what went on on the inside so I’m hesitant to place blame, but if no one really ever talked to the church that’s just an unbelievable mistake.

Seriously,it was nuts out there today, and not in a good way.

Yeah. Similar experience until I got off the trails. I was almost hit head-on by several people while I was on the trails tonight…

With the bullhorns on there it’s probably a good fit at 5’9″. Those bars will stretch you out.

Yes, I too am having problems with this one. I don’t need it at all (and have a fixed-gear theoretically waiting for me to fix it) but…. chrome frame.

There is a Trek Transport for sale on craigslist. Momentum reviewed the e-assist version.

That seems like a pretty fair deal for a complete longtail bike if it fits. Plus it already includes fenders and the cargo bag.

Lots of intersections in the area are also run on video detection, so you may not necessarily see the loops cut into the pavement for a signal to be actuated.
