When we were out riding in Vienna we came across a map of the area from October 25, 1862 at Freedom Hill. The map shows locations of forts and calvary and infantry pickets. One of them is Fort Ramsey at Minor’s Hill (by NW Boundary Stone 1). It is not on any of the civil war forts lists and I don’t believe there’s any historic marker. Also don’t find it on a basic Google search. It is also mentioned on the historical marker at N Manchester and Wilson Blvd. That marker also mentions a Confederate fort which would have been in Bon Air Park area (?). Could these count separately?

#LOLfunny 2/28 – Don’t whether this is LOL or roll eyes, intersection of 15th St N and N Taylor St new WL HS. The “BIKE ROUTE” sends you into a hedge at the dead-end in about 50 feet. It should be either two or three blocks west at N Vermont or N Vernon or a half block east to connect with the Custis Trail
#scavhunt 2/25 – I kept looking for a backyard solar DRYER on today’s ride, but didn’t see any. Here’s a gas or electric DRYER in the window of Bray and Scarff on Langston Blvd, we’re about due for replacement.
