ParticipantI have the vis 360 helmet light system. It seems to do a decent job all around, and it’s up high so not blocked by backpacks or panniers, etc.

I don’t, however, think it’s sufficient. My Vittoria and Schwalbe tires both have reflective strips that are super bright. You could also talk to acc, Ann is engineering a 300 battery powered light system for commuters, I hear.
Here are the Vittoria tires, stock on my Jamis, taken with a flash. My Schwalbe marathons on my Miyata are just as bright. (can be seen just behind the Jamis in this pic)

ParticipantI arrived home, fully intent on giving my new bike a good inaugural ride. My knee, however, had other plans. I decided to rehab the knee today while making use of the new bike anyways
Knee is hurting today still, but wanted to make sure of the new bike! by certifried, on FlickrCertifried

Hopefully we’re not embarrassing or, worse yet, offending Ann. She’s a very lovely lady, and her personality matches.

It was on the Paint branch trail, headed west. Look under the arrow:
http://goo.gl/maps/OHXmbThere’s a hole in the middle of the dark stain that isn’t showing up too well. Also, my once bright gloves (great, at least in my mind, for signaling) are more horror show than visibility boon.
bloody gloves will get more attention when signalling, the drivers will think you punched the last guy who didn’t yield.

ParticipantI stopped logging a while ago, but did go back and enter some miles today. I was interested in looking to see what the leaders had done, only to find out that the #1 leader has been disqualified because he doesn’t have fancy GPS gear.

All I can say is I’m an old nurse, I can put air in bike tires, but when I do I’m probably sweating and decked out in god awful bike shoes and Lord knows, no makeup. I hope they sell some bikes. Me? I’m waiting for the beach volleyball dude version of that ad.
I can honestly say I’d find you wrenching on a bike more attractive than the poseur in the picture. There’s too much fake in it.

the least we can do is equal(er) opportunity half-naked people.
you clearly haven’t been to one of our get togethers. I think some of us half-naked would drive people AWAY from cycling 😮

ParticipantI think I see a piranha in the water biting your tire, probably why it flatted this morning. Sorry to hear it
