I’ll donate some 3M reflective tape to spell “ELITE” on your tush (which may not need it…)
Or is it “EL-i-TE” (using natural features for the “i”)
I’m very sorry I missed this reply. Is the offer still valid?

ParticipantYes! I’m going to be ready to ride the entire distance this time. Should be a ~60 mile day, so happy their beer is cheap!

ParticipantThis is what I’ve got
http://www.rei.com/product/808602/light-motion-vis-360-front-and-rear-helmet-bike-light-system
not exactly cheap, but better than some other systems I’ve seen. It’s not really heavy at all, and goes on whatever bike I’m riding (obviously). It has side lights too that are decently bright. I do, however, back this up with a bike mounted rear and front light (cygolite on front, not cheap either, and a cheap $30 light on the back). So, not sure what your price range is, others have far more experience if you post a price range you’re looking at.

ParticipantI need to get off reddit, seen a few articles today about cyclists getting killed on the roads (not in this area). Be careful out there!

holy crap! You’re a lucky dude, make the wife do all the work and just go on trips to ride bikes with her LOL
I’m gonna have to try some Konas one day. I’ve got a roadie, a commuter, a project touring bike, I’m thinking I need a CX bike in the stable LOLOL

I find it strange that the bike is in such a weird position with a tacoed wheel, and do not understand the idea that a cyclist could have had this accident all on their own.
while I hate to speculate in matters like this, I can see how this could occur. Hopefully the cyclist is OK, and it really wasn’t a hit and run, or they catch the person if it was.
The tacoed wheel could’ve happened if the cyclist had a medical emergency on the bike and missed the ramp, nailing the curb head on.

Crabon?! But don’t those explode if sunlight touches them?
(Or sidewalks?)
no! of course not! Why do people believe EVERYthing they hear on the internet? Carbon bikes only explode if you hit a bump during freezing weather (and that’s more of a shattering type of thing, not really exploding so much)

I like a lot of the stuff that Raleigh is doing. Their Single Speed, disc cross bike is really nice. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but a VERY nicely done bike in my eye.

ok, going completely off topic here, sorry! As long as we’re starting to dream and posting such pretty bikes, I have to add the Foundry. Unfortunately, I think they might be way overpriced, but damn they’re pretty bikes.

Jamis Bosanova
After about 3 “real rides” on this, I’m getting worried I might like it more than my Trek. Tomorrow will be my first full commute on it, so I’ll report back later! (assuming I don’t invent some BS reasons why I’m not riding to work in the morning, like I did today. OK, the rain wasn’t totally a BS excuse.)

Certified,
Be careful with the route. Somehow we ended up on I-66 for a short period of time😮
I didn’t notice that, but would definitely not have gone on to I-66 for any reason. I even try to avoid it in my car! Glad you all made it safely off.
I’d have to edit the route anyways to start from my buddy’s house in Hamilton, which would be a great start point to the ride. This new Jamis I have is just blowing my socks off on how easy it is to ride. I almost have the mind to figure out a 2 day version and camp up there somewhere.
