Looks like a lovely morning now at 6am.
Dunno, just took a walk down to Starbucks, I’ll respectfully submit that your definition of “lovely” may be a bit skewed. If you’re a kite it’s a great day.

ParticipantActually more ice out today than yesterday. I didn’t slide on any, although the FC bridges were definitely covered. 1600 lumens of light shows a lot of sparkle on the pavement once it ices up.

As of 3:30 a.m.., when I got in, the temperatures had not dropped below freezing. I did not see or encounter any ice. Pavement was wet in some places, dry in others. (Most was a combination of the two, as it dries out.) This was true on the roads and the MVT. The wettest pavement was the stretch of Maine Avenue SW that was paved in December.
Even if the temperatures drop, things should not be bad for those of you sleeping in.
Same here coming in the W&OD from Sterling to downtown @3am. Only ice I saw was on the arch bridge over Rt 7 and the little bridge near Little Falls in FC. I was expecting much worse.
The dead deer in the middle of the trail at Cedar Lane was NOT my handiwork either.

ParticipantI want to go to NZ to see the Hobbits
Actually I’d like to go because the scenery in the movies just looks plain awesome.

You’ve seen them standing around at the trail’s end in Purcellville, hot and tired cyclists listlessly chewing on energy bars and drinking tepid water as they gather their fortitude for the long slog back towards home on the W&OD. [/url]
Only made worse by the fact that it’s all downhill all the way back to Leesburg

I would offer a contrary position that a trip is out and back.
My mindset was a “trip” was the distance to reach my destination, whether that destination was work or home. I can certainly understand either way, frankly I think the # of trips is a moving metric no matter how it’s measured.

With all of the transportation issues this place has, charging high prices for parking and overpriced restaurants, what does NH have too offer?
A nice bike ride across the bridge to Alexandria

I counted a daily commute as two trips as well. I think that’s the only way that makes sense. e.g. one morning I crashed and broke my arm = 1 trip. There was no return trip that day.
I realized I underestimated my total miles that I answered but not by more than maybe 200 miles.
I did the same.. each leg was a trip, that covered the days I may have only done one way for some reason or another.

Has anyone tried standard auto brake degreaser?
I’ve used it on the car. Hardly eco-friendly.

ParticipantI’ve used the Kiwi stuff. Once the buzz wears off (fumes from spraying) it’s pretty good at the waterproofing part. Apply it outside tho.
