2/16/2023 License Plate

I stopped to take a picture of a Florida license plate on a car parked at the end of a dead-end street. Fortuitously, I noticed a “wormhole” through the woods in front of the car so I decided to check it out. Low and behold, an Alaskan license plate was found at the end of the wormhole!

2/9/2023 Wild Card, This Day in History

On February 10, 2019, at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, PJ Morton won Best Traditional R&B Performance for the Bee Gees’ song, “How Deep is Your Love”. Since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, this seemed like an appropriate song for the season. “How Deep Is Your Love” is a 1977 single by the Bee Gees. It was also used in the movie, “Saturday Night Fever”.

2/6/2023 Civil War Battle of Fort Henry

I was surprised to see this sign at a driveway on a gravel road in Loudoun County. I had to stop to take a picture that had both the Union and Confederate Generals name on it. General Grant and the Union Army were able to gain control of Fort Henry, providing a Union victory and access to Tennessee.

2/5/2023 Apollo 14

While the Apollo 14 astronauts were walking on the moon, a Russian robot named Lunokhod 1, which was operated by remote control, was exploring another portion of the lunar surface of the moon. The Lunokhod 1 looks very much like the robots found on the George Mason University campus. The GMU robots are used to deliver food to students.

When I think of Barbie Dolls and Barbie Doll themed parties I always think of pink. This pink balloon was on a mailbox today as I rode by. Maybe they are having a Barbie Birthday party today?!?
