It was great meeting team members yesterday! For our email group, use snugglefestival@gmail.com.
I will sew our team neck gaiters this weekend and get back to everyone about pick-up options soon after. I’ve attached an image of the fabric, which has a s’mores theme. Some possible team names that play off this:
* Give me s’more
* S’more miles, s’more smiles
* Let’s go s’more
* Toasty Team 19
I love the fabric! Amy, thanks for doing this for our team! You have offered some great suggestions. I’ll copy this and send it out in an email. Everyone should have received an email from me by now. Please respond back to my email so I know that you have received it. —Cathy

Hi Komorebi, how is this going…did the Post Office even deliver at all? Or whatever other carrier it is? I once had a shipment of tea stuck in a Post Office sorting facility for literally days. Only when I filed a formal complaint to the Post Office using their web page for that was my box of tea delivered….and there is no hurry for me, anyhow…but I’ll move the money and my address details as soon as you let us know what to do…thanks so much…Bob
Bob, this is off topic on the gaiters, however your story on getting a package delivered resonates with me. I watched the tracking on a package that left Ohio on Dec 19 traveled to Warrendale PA then District Heights MD then Hyattsville MD then back to District Heights then Merrifield VA then Dulles VA then it arrived in Baltimore MD on Jan 2. I live in Fairfax VA. At that point I sent a message to the post office via their web page. My package was delivered 2 days later. Crazy!!

Haha. I like your Ox Hill Battlefield Park. I went there yesterday and took pictures. I also used the civil war markers in the park for the #civilwarmarker pointless prize game.

ParticipantOccoquan Regional Park, off of Route 123, houses The Turning Point Suffragists Memorial. The memorial is still under construction. https://suffragistmemorial.org/ The park also has the brick kiln where they made the bricks for the Lorton Prison, paved trails, restaurant (great place to get lunch or a beverage and sit outside to admire the waterfront before, during, or after a bike ride), picnic shelters and a marina.

What if the word park is in Flemish (park) or French (park)? 😮

Or for instance Parque in Spanish!! I’ve been going with that so hopefully it works
Here is my park for today…Parque de los Miradores…It’s about 2 kilometers long and runs along a ridge on the south side of Torrejon. I has great views of the country side and the river Jarama. 3 years ago they completed a bike loop around the town of Torrejon in which this park is considered a big part of the loop. I probably ride it 2 or 3 times a week…

Will you be allowing multiple parks per day like last year? Personally, I like the idea of only one per day to avoid the spamming of rides. It’s just a bit annoying when someone posts 20 rides in one day.
One of these days we’ll have another happy hour. I can wait for my prize! And plus, the postal service would probably lose it.Your comment about the postal service makes me laugh. I am still waiting for a package that started in Ohio on DEC 19. It has been to Warrendale PA, District Heights MD, Hyattsville MD, back to District Heights MD, Merrifield VA, Dulles VA, and now it is in Baltimore MD. I finally sent a note to the Post Office as the package is now getting further away from me. It should have been sent to the Fairfax Post Office from Merrifield. Kind of sad…. (I won’t even talk about the fact that I ordered several items from the same company on the same order on Dec 3 and all of the rest of the items have been here for weeks.
Regarding how many parks can be submitted, I left it open ended, but one can only get credit for one park per ride. I don’t know how to stop the spamming of rides at the end of the competition.

I hereby decree that for 2021 and beyond the official hashtag for this will be #parkfinder – please don’t use #FS2020ParkFinder any longer.
I have been using #parkfinder in my titles to see what is showing up on the leaderboard. However, when I check the pointless prize leader board there are no entries for this year. Is there something I need to do to get them to show up or is it just administrative and the “counter” has not been turned on yet?

Why can’t you play along? Just don’t award yourself the prize if you happen to win. It would be interesting to see some of your parks, too.
And, you are correct. There are so many local parks in this area.
I am playing along and have been posting one park per ride.. I agree, it is interesting to see all the different parks people are finding.
