I am not clear on how the “average miles per park” is calculated for an individual. Could you explain that a bit more?
At the end of the game it is the total mileage associated with your park rides divided by the total number of parks. You only get credit for one park per ride.
Thor, I cannot tell if you are showing up on the leaderboard (be sure to place #parkfinder in your title) but you can see how everyone is doing by checking here: https://freezingsaddles.org/pointless/hashtag/parkfinder

Wikipedia’s 20th birthday is tomorrow (January 15), and I’m sponsoring a rapid-response, one-day-only pointless-prize in honor of it.
The task: On January 15, while you are out and about on your bike, take a picture of a place that has a Wikipedia page and share one fact about that place using #Wikipedia20.
Pro tip: If you need help finding a place, use the Wikipedia app on your phone. The toolbar on the bottom has a “Places” button, which will open a map showing you all the spots near you with Wikipedia pages.
Scoring: I will choose a winner based on the creativity of your photo AND the pub-quiz-worthiness of the fact you include. If there are a lot of great entries, I will award a second and third place prize as well.
The prize: Some Wikipedia swag
Full disclosure: I work for the Wikimedia Foundation and edit Wikipedia, but I am doing this in my personal capacity.
Burke Lake Park is located in Fairfax VA. Per Wikipedia, the land the park is on had been purchased by the Federal Government in the 1950s with the intent of building an International Airport before eventually settling on the Chantilly site that is known as Dulles International Airport.

Picture is the Burke Lake Station. Burke Lake Park has a train station that takes riders on a route in the park.

While visiting Jones Point today I found some historical markers. The word “inland” is used in the statement about native people, after the ice age, leaving their “inland” villages to establish hunting and fishing camps at Jones Point. Who knew that reading historical markers could provide answers to puzzles?

When you want to get better at your batting skills, where do you go? A batting cage, of course. Batting cage located at Occoquan Regional Park.

You need to go to an airport to take a flight on an airplane. Here is a Reagan National Airport highway sign on I-66 as seen from the Custis Trail.

You are correct. Good find. I pass by this park frequently. (I just don’t think about it when I am thinking about parks.)

That’s a lot of snow for an unexpected storm. I see that they cleared the streets quickly since you were able to get out on your bike.
