Time for #publicartfinder to switch sides of the River!

Go find something done by the Port Towns Youth Mural (youth-led) program along the upper reaches of the ART (Anacostia River Trail) and score yourself +5 points during the first week of February!!!
    https://www.ethm.org/ethm-program-areas/

#Publicartfinder works by other artists in and around Port Towns MD (formerly known as Bladensburg;-) worth +3 points.

OK, Boomer. I took the bait and found this mural (actually was taken to this mural) on my ride today with a friend.

    2/4/2021 Rose or Rosa

I continue to learn new things every day because of Freezing Saddles. Today I learned that there is a florist in the shopping center near my house. (The same shopping center where I learned that there was a bakery nearby when I was looking for pie).

Sweet! So much better than the generic fish mailboxes I’ve seen so far.
p.s. …and impressed you have time to find mailboxes when there are so many parks to see :) I really loved park hunting last year. Painful to not take the time to stop and photograph park signs anymore :)

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed finding parks last year. I enjoy the pointless prize games since they give me a destination. I must live in a boring area as I have not been seeing interesting mailboxes.

    2/2/2021 – dog

This turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. I rode my bike on neighborhood streets and it wasn’t until the 8th mile that I finally found a dog. The dogs’ humans got a good laugh when I told them why I wanted to take their dogs’ picture. The dogs were kind enough to pose for me.

While riding on the Fairfax County Parkway Trail there is a wayfinding sign to let you know there is a nearby park. It also let’s you know that to stay on the Ffx Cnty Pkwy Trl you must make a right turn. The Pkwy Trail, as it passes through the Fair Lakes area, makes multiple turns before realigning with the Parkway. There are wayfinding signs at those turns.

At various places near the shops and restaurants at Fairfax Corner there are a number of bike racks where one can lock up their bike.

In the relatively new parking garage at Fairfax Corner I stumbled on a locked bike cage on the second level.

This lovely rooster has been hiding from me in plain sight. Maybe it the way his colors jump out at you with the snowy backdrop. He can be found near the entrance to The Gardens Assisted Living community on Forest Hill Drive in Fairfax.

Range. Which I think may even qualify for the bonus. And I got it in before the snow.

Of course, as soon as I got this shot set up, a voice came over the loudspeaker informing me that the location was closed, and that if I did not vacate the premises immediately, I’d be arrested. Apparently, their alarm system doesn’t recognize the vital necessity of getting out just after midnight and finding an anagram of Henri Desgrange. I decided it was the better part of valor to vacate the premises immediately.

I detect a theme to your adventures of capturing photos for Drevil’s game. You seem to like living on the edge of needing to have someone bail you out of the pokey. 😜

I got lucky with this one. The assisted living community is practically around the corner from my home. In addition, they had a lovely metal rooster, that I have never noticed, near the sign so I also got #publicartfinder.
