ParticipantI use a vented neoprene face mask and a separate skull cap so that my glasses don’t fog up.

ParticipantLast attempt at a team name:
1. The cyclists with no name
2. The no namers
3. Those who refused to be named
4. Team anonymous
5. The Dysfunctional Cyclists
6. Team Psychotic Democracy
7. Team GridlockOr we can just give our team naming rights to whomever winds up on top of this week’s team leaderboard, to chose as they see fit, and put an end to our misery…

ParticipantHey I just checked our team’s Strava leaderboard and noticed that we are down to only 8 riders this week. Did someone lose their bike or quit the team?
Boomer Cycles
ParticipantAre you referring to riding in the freezing cold, or our attempt to agree on a team name?

So now we have to come up with a Star Wars theme? How about Team Jar Jar Binks?

ParticipantCatchy Trekky Titles
1. To boldly go where no cyclist has gone before
2. I’m a cyclist, not a….
3. Engage…[cycle speed?]
4. Cycle long & prosper
5. Highly Illogical (…riding in the freezing cold, that is)
6. Fascinating (ditto above, or even this team name debate for that matter…)Boomer Cycles
ParticipantThe “Borg,” or “Cycle Borgs,” since resistance is futile, and you will be assimilated? But then again, I ride a Trek Madone, so I’m partial…
In all honesty, I got lost between the leap from the Pirate themed name (which seemed to resonate) and the leap to Snot Rockets (did I miss something?)Boomer Cycles
ParticipantI just rode from WOD mile 8 at Virginia Lane in Falls Church to the Custis Trail to the Roosevelt Bridge into downtown DC on a roadie with 23cm slicks and the trail was perfectly fine.

We sent a boarding party of Salty Dogs to Steve O’s team thread. They didn’t know what hit them. Now we are dividin’ up the booty.
I hope that they were “Salty Dawgz” so that he-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned-again-on-this-thread couldn’t identify then as his own.

So here’s I think everything that’s been suggested so far:
Boomer: Buccaneers, Blimeys, Cutlasses, Dungbies , Freebooters, Hornswaggles , Swashbucklers, Scallywags, Seadogs, Shark bait
Sjclaeys: Team Dread Pirate Black Heart
DKel: Merciless black hearts, Scurvy scalawags, Salty dogs, Rolling raiders, Biking buccaneers, Pedalin’ pirates
Me: Salty Dogs, Courtland Milloy’s Frozen Heart
Dasgeh: Davy Jones’s Bakfiets, Heart Maker Shop, Courtland Milloy’s heart, Lon Anderson’s cardiologistBased on general discussion, it seems the Courtland Milloy ones are out. There are certain forum members who take exception to use of the term “Dread” in team names.
Looking at “likes” etc., the names that seem to have some traction are:
Black Hearts (on our HH name tags & sorta default original name)
Davy Jones’s Bakfiets (dasgeh)
Salty Dogs (me and DKel (I missed that DKel had already suggested this one when I re-suggested it))
A pirate themed name that’s not listed above (from among Boomer’s one-word pirate themed names or DKel’s two word pirate themed names -[we could choose from among those after the voting if the one/two word pirate names are chosen]I could add or subtract from this list and do a quick survey monkey poll (or we could just vote here). Before people start voting, are there any other suggestions (or did I miss anything)?
I, too, vote for “Salty Dogs, ” given the definition in post #41 by @AlcovaCyclist, and with due respect to @dasgeh and corresponding acquiescence in post #60. Steve O’s friendly amendment tweaked to “dawgz” so we don’t have to attribute it to him might work, too. But can we pleaz block him from this thread anyway?

Wait… Wait…. you are a friend of Steve O’s and you have a cute puppy???
Yes. I don’t get enough love from Steve O on our rides, so I go home to my puppy.
