The century ride was great, but truly the highlight was BREAKFAST!

Labor Day Monday morning breakfast sandwich, with a view of Mattawoman Creek at Smallwood State Park. (FYI they had meatless ones as well.)

You weren’t the only WAAS woofing down egg McMuffins at Smallwood Park on Labor Day Monday:)

This week’s Sunday century is on Monday, Indian Head One Hundred unless anyone has other ideas. Ride to and from and get 200. I’m gonna be out of town. This is my plan for the rest of the challenge period. Saturday Sept. 12; 50 States Ride. Sunday September 13;? Saturday Sept. 19; Boundary Stone Ride. Sunday Sept. 20, Gravel Weather. Saturday Sept. 26 Cotoctin Criss Cross. Sunday Sept. 27 Tour Du Port “Urban Adventure” Route. “…this route is not for the faint of heart. Mountain bike and trail ride skills are strongly recommended. DO NOT ATTEMPT WITH A ROAD BIKE! :)

Sunday September 20th is also Potomac Pedalers Backroads Century in Shepherdstown WVA.

Sat, Oct 3rd: Culpepper Century in VA

Sunday, Oct 11th: Montgomery County Farm Tour or the Cannonball Century in Fredericksburg VA

About 150 cyclists took to the streets of DC for the Full Moon Luau Ride hosted by Bicycle Space. It started at their shop on 4th & K, NE and finished at Bardo’s Brewery on Bladensburg Road, complete with hula dancers and a fire stick dancer. A great ride!

I’d love to participate in a group ride to cycle this route, especially if one could collect beerneuring points along the way:)

It would also be a good warm up for the upcoming 50 States ride.

Speaking of trust, can you trust Strava?
Everyone gets on my case about the hills, but it seems mine were easier than everyone else’s. According to my Strava, I only went up 4969 feet, which is hundreds less than others I was riding with.

And Steve lied about the hills, too:)

My Frankenstein project bike, a Ridley Domacles (Belgium), with 3 different classes of RED componentry and Dura Ace brakes, but Belgium-made HED wheelset to retain some degree of pedigree, at the Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island during a recent summer weekend at the Jersey Shore.

Late posting from this week’s MMPC where I had the pleasure of meeting Gina, who has assumed much of Consularrider’s vacated presence, including his home and circle of cycling friends, but who has a much cooler stainless steel bike, with couplings!

    And the reason behind MMPC:

After which, KayakCyndi once again invited me for a “recovery ride” from Sunday’s RBC2015 century, and a proper coffee, at Green Lizard Cycling in Herndon. Enroute she hit cruising altitude on her Volagi with 40mm tires somewhere around 25 mph!

The tailwind was not the only thing that Powerful Pete lied about.

There was a slew of Bike Arlington riders out yesterday at the Reston Bike Club Century. If they all are WAAS, and uploaded their data, we should have a huge blip in our favor. If not, we could use Strava to identify and recruit them to become WAAS.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached our final destination. Thank you for choosing Boomer’s airline. Now go chug a real brew & rehydrate properly!
