ParticipantPaving on Courthouse Road from Nutley to 123 complete in both directions. Made for a smooth, fast ride last night and this morning.

ParticipantReally nice ride today. Glad that the milling on Courthouse westbound is done (hopefully eastbound is done shortly).
Beautiful light to start the ride:

ParticipantThe mosquitos are always thick up there at this time of year. Make sure to spray your helmet as well as your skin.
Can’t help you on trail conditions.

ParticipantRode the NCR/York County Heritage combo today. A little soggy, especially the MD portion, but overall a great ride – fun trail!

ParticipantHadn’t bothered trying to go through Luria Park in Annandale for a few months due to what seemed like never-ending causeway repairs. Took that route this morning and happily the work is all done. Much better than riding to the end of Camp Alger, then carrying the bike up the stairs to Holly Berry.

ParticipantTalked one of my co-workers into joining me for this morning’s commute – made for a super enjoyable ride in this perfect weather

ParticipantTook the Cross-County Trail rather than the W&OD – wonderful solitude and only a few soggy spots

ParticipantAnybody else notice how much the buttercups have come out in the past 3 days? Nice carpet of green/yellow on the sides of the trails.

ParticipantBeautiful rides the last two days – Blossoms at Hain’s Point yesterday and Kenwood Grove today.

ParticipantThere’s some flooding out there:
Not surprisingly, the Holmes Run Trail tunnels are flooded travelling eastbound. Flooding starting halfway through the Van Dorn tunnel. When that ends, it opens up into a full on rapid – completely non-passable under 395. I went down to take a look, then bypassed them with the Sanger/Richenbacher to Paxton detour to hook back up with the trail once past the tunnels.
Wilson Blvd underpass on the W&OD is flooded, but passable. Water almost to the cranks. If it keeps raining overnight, it’ll likely be unpassable.
MVT from Old Town to 4MRT was fine. 4MRT to W&OD was fine. Other than the Wilson Blvd underpass, W&OD to Falls Church was fine.
