Dan posted about the WABA Annual meeting and Bicyclist Choice Awards (tonight) in our Strava team. I’ll be there tonight as well.

This will be my first time attending the annual event so I’m not sure what to expect. A link to the event is below and begins as early as 5:30, with the Awards beginning at 7:30. Hope to run into some of you this evening.

    The Hill Center
    921 Pennsylvania Ave SE
    Washington, DC 20003
(2 blocks from the Eastern Market Metro Station)

This is the third time I’ve done this ride and though I don’t think I’ll be riding more miles than I normally do, the one takeaway for me this year is how easy it is to jump on a CaBi and ride a short distance during my workday in the city. So, I’ll prolly ride more often, but they’ll be shorter utilitarian rides.

Good times, everyone. Glad we got together to do this. Would love to do more of these if we can. Oh and Astro Doughnuts was great.

Ricky, thanks for the pic and the ride back up the mbt.

Just in case anyone else is interested, I’m planning to do the Grouchy Groundhog Gravel Grinder on Saturday, February 1st in Warrenton, VA:

I just saw this. Have fun, looks like it’ll be a blast. I’ll be on my way back from Richmond on Saturday so I won’t be able to participate.

Please let us know if there are any more of these in the future.

It was nice meeting you last night.

@Dan – I worked up a quick image to identify our Strava team and give it some character. Below is a link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f0xmcqnkzf5royw/HypothermiaHijackers.png?dl=0

Since you’re admin, would you mind adding?

….same here but using the tapatalk app makes navigating the forum a bit easier.

I find navigating and posting to this board overwhelming at times. I’ve gotta check this tapatalk app out, thanks for suggesting, Eddie.

Awesome, we’re legit, AND we’re not losing! Thanks to everyone for getting us up and running.

Also, I agree, love the name. We are the Hypothermia Hijackers! Well done, AS.

Hopefully the final two riders will join us. At the HH on Tuesday, I think I heard Chuck say that if players are still MIA after Sunday we can request replacements. Though, it seems there is less interest in BAFS this year.

Yes, a group will be riding from the Washington Monument (15th St. side at Madison), 5:30pm.

Jessica H and all: If you want to meet us as we fly up the ramp of the 14th St. Bridge instead, near the Jefferson Memorial, we’ll be going by there about 5:40 I would guess. I recommend queuing by the CaBi station.

Thanks, Steve. Will be there at 5:30.

Is it too late to RSVP for this tonight? If so, I’m gonna crash it… :)

Also, planning on getting some miles in on the way over there from Farragut North, but don’t know my way around over there.

If anyone is planning on riding down and needs some company, please let me know. I’ll be on a CaBi.

Hey everyone, I’m Brian. This will be my third year doing BAFS, have had a blast the previous two years participating in this challenge. I’m in suburban MD and do a fair bit of riding in the dark, either night or early mornings. The neighbors and wife think I’m crazy, but absolutely love this. I’ll be at the opening HH in January and hope to meet more of you this year.

Hello everyone! I tried replying to this thread earlier this morning, but somehow didn’t take.

My name is Brian Miller, I’m up in Silver Spring. This is my second time doing BAFS and hope to do some group rides with all of you this season.

    Below are some potential names:

    – Screamin’ Fourteens
    – The Seven and Sevens
    – The Plow Hammers

With all the snow they’re forecasting, this weekend should be interesting…!

Ugh! Bob C (who I think happens to be one of those randonuttes) looks like a formidable opponent. If I had my old Garmin, I’d have a much better chance at beating him. But my stupid new Garmin cheats me out of about 10% per ride according to Ride with GPS. However, I will give it my best shot.

Any chance of getting a few bonus points for finishing in the top 3 of miles while doing this? It’s one thing to do a lot of climbing per mile, but it’s another to do it all the time. Haha, I figure it can’t hurt asking. Either way, I’m up to the challenge.

Better watch your back. It looks like Laura M. of the Titanium Geraniums, has everyone beat. She’s clocking in at an astounding 110 ft/ mile. If she can maintain while meeting the threshold of 29,029 she’ll beat us all!

Thelma Dickinson or Joanie Cunningham. Despite just loving the name ‘Thelma’ she’s a badass and a changed woman who sorta lives life after death.

Joanie just follows the early 80’s sitcom trend as part of a duo.
