I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than an ambivalent yes.
I unequivocally might be able to make it or not.

I agree with Steve O and others…itโs not the points but the effort and camaraderie you build during the season where most people would hang their bike up and wait for spring!
Hey I didn’t have a team last year and somehow benefitted from the effort and camaraderie. Sometimes… you have to make your own rules (pops collar on leather jacket). ๐

ParticipantSunyata was eyeing my Chrome Bravo Night backpack last night and while the prices aren’t insaaane over at Competitive Cyclist, the same style can be had for $135. If you’re ok with sand brown, then it’s down to only $88.

Speaking of which, at the last sale I bought a pair of these Cygolite Hotshot Pro 150 rear lights. If you don’t care if the people behind you get blinded, this is the light to get. It’s ridiculously bright, and even painful to ride behind someone that is using one.
I used to rock the Hotshot and it’s a great commuting light but only in the dry. I went through a couple as they did not seem particularly well-sealed from the elements. My Cygolite headlight is still going strong though and I put it through the wringer.

ParticipantIt’s possible to get a beer or cider in the AM at Kindred in Falls Church… allegedly.

That’s at the bottom of the hill, so riders should use caution. I noticed some fencing being put up this morning.
Depending on how much of the trail they take, it might be worth taking this simple detour:

Agreed. Just take the detour.

ParticipantI got there super late, but got there nonetheless. Good seeing Bob and the late crowd. And glad I could be of service breaking the seal on dessert.

I am always looking at bike lock setups people use. Have not seen one yet that looks like it would be hard to defeat with an angle grinder/cutoff wheel.
Not trying to be bummer bob. Just pointing out that locks only slow thieves down.
That’s the sad reality. There’s not a bike lock out there that will stop a thief. The best you can hope for is yours is good enough that if a theft is going to happen, other nearby bikes will look like more convenient targets. But if a thief really wants your bike, he’s going to have it.

If all goes as planned with work today, I should be with the main group tonight (6pm at District Cycle Works).
I am definitely in need of a hammer session after the week I have had (and it is not even half over!).
It’s such a gorgeous night for it but I’ve got a hammer session scheduled on foot. Not really looking forward to it though.

I hate to ask this, but I wonder if the cyclist was going at a sufficiently slow speed to be able to react to the presence of the pedestrians. Speaking for myself, I take steep and/or blind curves very slowly.
Without witnessing the crash I just don’t know, but I’m not a fan of that curve and my approach speed reflects that.

ParticipantHave fun folks. I’ve got some family things I’ll need to handle off and on throughout the day so it looks like I’m out.

Since Boba is a gear nerd, I’m sure Bobco wouldn’t mind playing him. We’ve established Steve is evil and you’re always saying you’re the good guy, so y’all have your roles pretty much spelled out.
I think this violates the Adobe Photoshop EULA.

ParticipantRunning super late. Maybe catch you all on water street.

ParticipantUgh there’s just no way I can get everything sorted before GRUSK this year. So if you go and have an awesome time please keep it to yourself. Thanks.
