Oh, I am not going to stop RIDING!!!;)

I am just not going to be commuting once darkness hits a certain point on the way home, which I sneaked in yesterday by leaving early, but I’m pushing it.

    Oh no! What happened?

My morning commute was possibly the last, or at least next-to-last, by bike until, oh, April-ish.:(:(:(

Just when I’m starting to get good at them!

(just not quite good enough for dodging potholes + cars in the dark)

As an added incentive: if you call your pass when there’s a bike rapidly approaching from the opposite direction, I will be glad to yell “bike up” at the top of my lungs at no charge.

Come on jhr, let’s treat each other as we would want to be treated. Yelling “bike up” at the top of your lungs will not stop the cycle of peds/bikers/motorists demonizing each other. So, please, don’t do that.

You: Jogger on the CCT between Conn. Ave. and E-W Highway this morning running toward Bethesda. In the right lane, wearing a highly visible white t-shirt, and NOT wearing headphones.

Me: Cyclist passing you in the left lane without providing audible warning.

You: “Please provide an audible warning when you pass.”

Me: “Sorry, …… but I had plenty of clearance…”

    You: “That doesn’t matter!”

Me: After thinking about it… He’s right.

I love my Castelli Ergo knickers (not bibs). Just right for 50-55 degree weather. There are some bibs on sale here: http://www.backcountry.com/castelli-ergo-due-knicker-mens-cst0374?ti=UExQIEJyYW5kOkJpa2U6NDoxOQ

    Signs could also help.

How about something like this as a sign for cyclists to wear on their backs for runners to see as they are passed? “B SAFE – WEAR A LIGHT” or “RUNNERS NEED LIGHTS TOO”…

Definitely a campaign that is needed for the late Summer/early Fall mornings when visibility once again becomes an issue during normal rush hours…

Yeah – the good ole’ hip socket. …The fracture is on the socket, where the femur sits – upward force may have been enough pressure to fracture. Kind of like cracking a mortar with a pestle…if that analogy makes any sense.

Then again, I’m no expert on biomechanics.

Pretty good analogy, if you ask me. Sorry to hear about the fracture, and hope it heals quickly.

It doesn’t hurt to ride, it just hurts to walk.

Then definitely don’t walk! Hope you get better quickly.

I’ll look when I get home. You wouldn’t happen to have a 110bcd 39t chainring to trade, would you?

V – I have a 39 tooth Campagnolo chainring in my office you can have. Do you have a Campagnolo crank to put it on?

I <3 my brain also… That’s why I have 4 helmets that see action during different parts of the year. My Bell, Giro, and Catlike helmets share warm-weather duties, while the Nutcase takes on the winter weather to keep my brain warm.
