ParticipantWhat? You didn’t chase it down and capture the thief? I always call the police or run to assist whenever I hear a car alarm.*
*not really

Good catch. I assumed it was Inauguration Day. I also signed up for an inauguration day protest. Got them mixed up.
I think it was going to be on Inauguration Day originally. In any event, I bet you can just walk around and find a few protests all over town that weekend.

ParticipantThis is cool, and encouraging.
The FB page says it is the day after Inauguration day, which is a Saturday.

False. My ability to reference punk rock bands that I am too young to reasonably be aware of is quite clever. I was 4 years old when Zen Arcade was released.
I talk about Mozart sometimes, so I’m a genius!

There are folks that have a problem with blinking lights on the trail. I’ve had a similar guy (same guy?) admonish me for forgetting to convert my light from blinky to solid once I moved off of the streets and onto the trail. Some people just need everyone to do things exactly like they do.
Just tell him he noticed you and that’s the point of a light.

Adding lights to the trail is not a very green or economical method. The infrastructure cost alone would be prohibitive and then you have to add in maintenance and power costs.
Not to mention massive light pollution.

ParticipantAbout two years ago. Went down at the curve. There was a small layer of frost. As soon as I picked myself up and moved on, two more cyclists went down right behind me at the same spot.
Yes, they can sprinkle sand, or even paint with grit already mixed into the paint. They put that stupid mold paint down already (which is pointless since it’s not just about mold or algae), so why don’t they just put some grit paint down? Easy, cheap and effective, and a great boon to safety.

ParticipantSo nice to see a family with young children cycling through downtown.
Oh, wait, not so nice to see them running a red light, with a car approaching fast enough to have to slow down for you.
Don’t teach your kids to be stupid. Wait until they are adults and learn to be stupid all on their own.

ParticipantYes, that’s it, driver of bus full of tourists – stop in the middle of 15th Street and disgorge your passengers so they have to cross a bidirectional bike lane to get to the sidewalk.

ParticipantOn Fairfax at the Ballston Metro station, buses often partly block the lane simply because the parking lane to the right is too small for buses.

Participant95% chance I will be there.
