My thanks too! I’ve been riding between Shirlington and the Pentagon City metro station the past couple of days and have really enjoyed using the snow and ice free Eads and Hayes Street bike lanes. Thanks too to Arlington DES for cleaning up the snow from where Eads connects to the Four Mile Run trail.

I rode from Pentagon City to the FMR trail and Shirlington last night via Hayes and Eads St.

All of the bike lanes were clear and mostly dry and ArlingtonDES had removed or smoothed the pile of snow at the south end of Eads making access to the trail easy. A few spots on FMR were wet or a little slushy and may have iced up overnight, but it was a very easy trip.

Shirlington area report: Just rode to Shirlington Village. S. Arlington Mill Road and the trail alongside it were wet but clear. The trail had been brined before the snow, so I think all the other brined trails should be in good shape too, except maybe for a patch under 395. The roads in Shirlington Village were another matter, but they’re working on them now. No lines at Best Buns yet.

Post Prez day coffee? I’ll be heading to Best Buns around 9:30 -9:45 this morning on cross type tires. Will report back on conditions.

I counted about 16 of us at coffee club this morning. Not bad for a morning of zero(?) degree F wind chill.

As mentioned above, i’m now trying for Friday, March 27.

I’ve abandoned the April proposal, so no need to comment further at this point about the April date. Thanks again for all the feed back though.
