Participantan exclusive cyclist/pedestrian phase doesn’t dissolve the right of way for peds and cyclists when they have a walk signal though, right? the longer wait times would be only for those that weren’t comfortable crossing with the traffic signals. At least that’s how I interpret it.

ParticipantAnyone think this will make any difference?

ParticipantNot sure why they are enforcing the rules now, but if you take a look at the Park Compendium on the NPS site it lists specific areas where cycling is prohibited on the roadways, on page 12.

I’ve created a map for you, if you’re more visual, although it lacks the Potomac Heritage Trail.

You lost me right there. Mobile Web version only for me, thanks. Can you set it up so that it remembers if you DON’T want to use tapatalk?

ParticipantI try to avoid that section whenever it rains. Last year a guy sped by me on the trail portion, only to wipe out in front of me. I always have to remind myself to slow down and to scrub the water off my rims on wet days.

ParticipantThanks for the info OneEighth, I sent a letter off to Moran yesterday!

ParticipantThat GGW comment thread is getting UGLY! Any lawers on these boards that can comment on what should happen at that crossing?

ParticipantCongrats on the anniversary. At what point did you decide to start filming, and was it motivated by fun or safety? The bike light thread on here is phenomenal

ParticipantIt looks ok now on my Verizon Droid. I just wish the nav buttons were all visible on a single page. Also would be nice not to have to zoom in so much. Of course these are all “nice to have’s ” not needs.

ParticipantThere’s a couple of fora that I’ve used recently that ask if I’d like to use their mobile app. I would use one for this forum, and I would also be happy to see a mobile version, since I’m not always in front of the computer, or might like to post trail conditions from the field.

ParticipantI feel I need to mention that the trail network is more like a road network than a transit system. Mostly in that we have ‘exits’ rather than ‘stops’. In that sense, I think you might get some good insight from looking at road maps, since we’re both dealing with paved stretches of asphalt, sometimes even on roads. I have a feeling you’re looking to end up with something like the attached map

ParticipantCycleLife also runs swim classes, and the first one is free. They’ve also got a fair amount of Tri stuff available. I think they even ‘rent’ wetsuits (maybe?)

ParticipantGlad to hear it was recovered, so now you have two macbooks? Too bad the webcam wasn’t activated at the same time as the alarm and apprehension. That would make for some good video.
