Nope. That is the wind jacket. It is great, but not the rain jacket. They are very different.
It would appear that the deal I got was a spectacular one. This is the jacket that I got for $120. http://www.pearlizumi.com/publish/content/pi_2010/us/en/index/products/men/ride/apparel/6.-productCode-6531.html MSRP is $200. [/url]

ParticipantI do appreciate seeing the red light on the trail, helps me gauge whether or not its safe to pass, and often I’m still surprised by how quickly I catch up with folks.

Makes you wonder what people think when they see him taking one of these pictures, doesn’t it?
I would imagine it’s only he and you out on the trails at those times

ParticipantI was thinking there were some inside the Ballston Public Parking Garage to offer a bit more protection.

I think Ballston Mall has a bike rack on the Glebe Rd exit, just past the cashier booths. It’s not quite indoors but not quite outside either.
I thought this too, but I just called and the woman who answered said there were no bike racks. weird

ParticipantThere’s a few spots now where some day-drunks rolled over the fresh paint and wiggled their way through the lanes.

The NY Bolt Bus or Chinatown bus will let you take the bike for free. I see a lot of people bring their to NY for weekend ride.https://www.boltbus.com/faq.aspx
I’ve heard folks recommend that you lock your bike to one of the pillars in the cargo hold to keep it from getting banged around too much.

ParticipantI like the idea of ‘lights for everyone’ and I’m not going to exclude animals.
Do any of the pedestrian / jogging / running groups give out lights the way Bike Arlington does?

Participantdefinitely needs work.

Are you looking at the belt drive one? I’ve been eyeing that as my next commuter for quite some time now. Would love to hear your thoughts if you do get one!

ParticipantThis thread made me curious. Where exactly does the Custis Trail end, and the Mt. Vernon Trail begin? It wasn’t entirely clear to me from the Bike Arlington map, and I always assumed (from the posted signage and google maps labels) that the Mt. Vernon Trail began at Lynn St.
1) Is this true? Verifiable?
2) Does the Custis stop at N.Fort Myer Dr, or does it proceed to Lynn? Thanks!

Participantoh man, I REALLY want to go, but I dunno if I can make it. Will you at least post up the cuesheet, or link to the GPS map when you’re done?
