ParticipantI dragged my Bike Arlington bag all over four theme parks in Orlando. It held up better than I did. Count me as part of the Tim Kelley Fan Club.
Congrats on a great ride, BTW.

ParticipantRemember, only you can prevent forest fires. Naw, just don’t forget your helmets- make safety a priority.

ParticipantLet’s just hope they have well-oiled machines and warm up their equipment properly in order to complete the job successfully.

ParticipantAll true, except the shoes aren’t funny looking, black leather boots with chains are funny looking, velco and ratchets on shoes are god-awful. But the view is better from a bike saddle, I can create a breeze for myself as I ride along, there is no up and down bouncing or brain rattling on a road bike compared to running. There is an entire vocabulary associated with cycling that allows me to say things with a straight face that make me laugh. “Yesterday I was down at the LBS being measured on the Assometer, and picking up more lube.”
I hope you have a lot of fun this evening.

ParticipantConfessions first: I avoid fundraisers like the plague. I write checks. Small checks. But WABA is doing it right. No ridiculous dress to buy. No getting trapped at a table with nine bizarre people for three hours. No bidding on obscure objects I don’t need or want. No pretending to know which fork to use when. No bad wine that gives me a 12 hour headache. In other words, no enforced- “We are having fun because we are supposed to.” This is a good event. Full of low-key, low-pressure fun. If I were in town I would be there.
God, I hate the fork roulette game… Gimme Spartacus and some road any time. Except for this.

ParticipantI can now die and go to heaven. I met a real honest to god Ironman who I will worship in a custom-built alter in my foyer as soon as I get the promised signed 5X7 autographed picture. Tim Kelley is indeed an Ironman. And I’m not saying this because I’m sucking up for all the really cool swag I received. I’d never do something like that.
In case you missed the epic event, a terrific time was had by all. So many beautiful people in such a small space…
Thank you Mark and M. (god knows she’s the brains there) for setting this up and making sure the evening was a success.
Happy trails,
annPS – Dirt is a real person. I saw him with my own eyes.

ParticipantSo sorry to hear about this. Earlier in the week I encountered trimming and mowing along with the ongoing construction. That is one of my favorite little hills but there are many things going on in that stretch right now.
Agreed, I will try to behave better coming through there.
