Yes, the wheels are tubeless…but the tires require tubes.

I love that they also added “DISC” just in case that wasn’t completely obvious from the presence of rotors (and lack of a brake track)
I think AC looked to Stradalli for inspiration here.

Of course, I’m sure they’re awesome wheels.

ParticipantLOL, tough crowd!
I will eventually take the stickers off – but my youngest daughter told me to keep them on because they are “cool”.
Enjoying the bike and wheels thus far…

Haha, enjoy the bike and wheels. Each to their own! I would listen to my daughter over the yahoos around here.
Admittedly, I removed the stickers that came on my Jake’s stock rims back in 2012 and they weren’t anywhere near as loud.

I love almost everything about my Stages, but I definitely would prefer non-single sided power, especially since I have a sizeable shim on my left leg I suspect my balance isn’t 50/50. Eventually I think I would like a crank/spindle based solution on my “dream” bike so my cranks/pedals/wheels could be swapped around as I like without worrying about where the power meter goes.
I have a Stages on my Dogma F8 and a Quark crank on my Diverge. Both were same price but Quark gives both left and right measurements. I’m not one to be bothered with swapping out pedals or crank arms from bike to bike.
One new item that’s out now is the Brim Brothers cleat-based meter. Uses Speedplay Zeroes with a pod that attaches to your shoes. It’s interesting but I didn’t like the look of the pod but it is easy to use since you only need the one pair of shoes mated with the Zero pedals.
Powertap has also introduced a new pedal-based meter (preorders being taken now) and will be introducing a new ring-based unit that will measure left and right and can be used on any crank with 110 BCD with options for 53/39, 52/36, or 59/36 (wouldn’t accommodate 34). I’m going to get the ring-based unit for my Shiv with the carbon crank and probably will change for compact to mid-compact and maybe standard so I can go FASTER. And costs the same as the Stages or Quark I’ve already got.
Plus there are some new ones in the pipeline with estimated costs as low as $300-some. DC Rainmaker has a lot of good info on his page about power meters.
Power meters are definitely becoming much cheaper to buy. I’m still not entirely sure what to do with all the data but I love more toys…and more data…and more bikes!!!!

Yeah, for real. I guess they can point to something to justify the significant markup!
On the other hand if the bike does get run over by a truck, you’d be able to identify the brand from any one of the pieces scattered across the road.

Yup. Equipped with full Ultegra and hydro disc brakes. Not Campagnolo but nice.
My first experience with discs – very impressive…

As for me, my latest purchases are more mundane – bike shorts and shirts on sale at REI.
Oh and Rudy Project sunglasses with clip-on prescription lens. No more sunglasses falling off my face when I sweat.

Agreed! Yeah I read DC Rainmaker’s posts, he’s one of the people who made me feel okay about running two power meters, two HRMs, and two Garmins on the same ride. (I’ve had a Stages for a bit over a year and a PowerTap for about 2 years.) Not convinced I want a pedal based PowerTap because of cleat/pedal wear issues (and I’m on SPD-SLs). I was on the Brim Bros pre-order list mostly out of curiosity but nixed it since I don’t use Speedplay.
Xpedo at some point were going to have a pedal based CX/MTB powermeter but not sure if that was vaporware or what. I’d be more likely to switch all my pedals to a MTB cleat than anything else. As it is, 5 of my bikes have Hollowtech, so I can put the Stages on them easily enough, and I have another spare crank spider laying around I was going to put on the fixed gear, but just haven’t bothered yet.
Other than Quarq and the other players (Power2Max, Infocranks, SRM, etc), I think 4iii would be a good option too, especially for a bike I do a lot of miles on – and if I ever get carbon cranks.

I read, maybe in the DCR comments on the PowerTap pedal article, that the PT cleats are actually proprietary and not compatible with Keo, even though they appear to be the same…which is hugely obnoxious. I ended up switching to Keos for the Vectors, but that was just a matter of changing the cleats (included with the pedals) on one pair of shoes. I only run road pedals on two bikes, so the switch was NBD for me since the systems are so similar, Keo is ubiquitous, and I can probably sell my SPD-SLs pretty quickly.

Yeah I would probably be fine with either Keos or SPD-SLs since they’re so similar, but I’m the same – only two bikes with road pedals, and only because of shim / fit issues which I feel like I’m closer to solving on my Crank Bros pedals. There might be a legitimately good reason for proprietary cleats but, in any case yeah definitely annoying.
