Before you think the grass is greener, it’s not necessarily a good thing for the budget when both adults in the family support bike purchases…
Agreed, because then you find yourself with $2500 worth of new bikes 5 months before your wedding, plus another $400 in tune up costs for your existing 3 bikes since you both decided you need a new commuter (um, I swear, it’s all to get in shape for the wedding… really…).
I’m sure the wedding guests won’t mind sitting on the floor. Chairs at wedding receptions cost money…money that got spent on bikes…

Combine the two: our wedding “favors” were custom water bottles. They were less than $2/each. We ordered two extra boxes, and are still going through them, 7 years later. It’s fun to show up at friends/family’s houses and see them using the bottles. And they’re easy to find at races. Plus, it makes me smile.

That may tend to reduce the actual number of “adults” to zero. Just say’n.

Almost 20 years ago my wife and I registered with REI, so there is a long standing precedent for places other than Pottery Barn. But then again, we were into rock climbing back then, unfortunately an ascender doesn’t work with climbing hills on a bike.

ParticipantCould not resist the Competitive Cyclist sale. I am weak when it comes to Castelli gear (reminds me of my racing days as a wee young lad, and it confirms my sleek Italian-ness… or following last night’s pasta dinner and wonderful dessert, potential sleekness ). Am now the proud owner of:
– Espresso jacket;
– Head thingie; and
– Pair of Estremo gloves. The more perceptive will not that this is all in preparation for BAFS 2016. As I commuted in bib shorts today and I have decided it is officially spring.

I would say “just ride more”, but obviously that does not apply in this case.
I am hoping to pick up one of the District Taco kits at some point, which will be my first Castelli kit. I hear the shorts are nice.

ParticipantCastelli kit runs small. That’s my excuse.
But the padding is puh-fect.

ParticipantI have to wear XXL in Castelli jerseys. Now, I’m not skinny by any means, but that’s just ridiculous. Even the supposedly OSFA Castelli winter cap I have is borderline too small. That’s right, my head is almost too fat for Castelli…

ParticipantI just spent way too much money on Rapha stuff and it’s not even stuff anyone will really notice: baselayers and socks. But most of it was on sale and you have to buy stuff when it’s on sale, right? Anyone? Help me out here.
Oh, and my new Garmin smartwatch just shipped.
This biking addiction is going to bankrupt me.

Oooh, ooh, oooh, off to find me a Castelli cap! Because yes other caps and visors I have purchased that supposedly fit “all” apparently are unaware of my existence…

Of course you do. Just as it looks like I will have to buy something in addition to my new hopefully not too big cap to take advantage of free shipping on orders over $50. It would make no sense whatsoever to PAY for shipping, amirite?

Is this you leaking info about who you’re going to be racing for this season?
