Anyone seen what the W&OD looks like today? Got about an inch and a half of snow in Winchester and hasn’t melted much here. My 3:30am start doesn’t like a lot of ice on the trail – and I’m not particularly fond of Metro :(

We got maybe a 1/4 inch of snow Saturday morning in the Herndon/Reston area. All is gone now except for splotchy bits in 100% shady spots. I haven’t been on that trail but everything else looks clear.

Looked West on the trail from Gallows road as I drove back from spinning. There is a dusting of snow as of 10:30 this morning, but that section is shady.

I rode it from Falls Church to Reston and back today. Not bad at all but I was on a MTB. The trail is 95% clear. There are a few spots with a very thin layer of snow. I’m not commuting in tomorrow but if I were I’d probably opt for the knobbie’s, but I’m rather risk averse.

Thanks everyone!. I’ll take the Salsa then, has 38mm cross tires on it 25 miles is tough on my MTB with Nevegals on it. I’m expecting the usual villians up near Buckthorn and between Cedar Lane and Gallows (Does that stretch EVER dry?)

I’ll jump on in the morning and let everyone know what I find.

Rode from beginning through FC today – just tiny patches of ice (from melting/refreezing snow). You’ll be fine on the Salsa.

Yup, good shape from Reston in. Bit nippy at 16 degrees!

Ice along the stretch between Virginia and Shreve where the fence shades it but nothing major.
