W&OD Closed – Buckthorn to Sunrise Valley

They’re “PAVEING”. Shuffling you off on the horse trail, and while the signs say gravel, it’s primarily mud. Up to the spoke nipples kind of mud. Made it through (barely) on my Cross bike, but a road bike will have issues.

I can imagine they’ll bail by 5pm, but figured I’d throw it out there…

That “PAVEING” sign still cracks me up, hahahaha! Wonder if they’ll have it solid for tomorrow morning’s ride.

They are done “PAVEING” between SV and Buckthorn. It’s nice and smooth!

They will probably do Buckthorn to Hunter Mill in the next few days. They left the paving machine at the top of the hill, so I wouldn’t even be surprised if they did it today.

In other news: Trail is now virtually snow-free, and should definitely be clean and clear as of tonight.

Maybe the “writer” of the sign is French and he/she intended to refer to paving stones and couldn’t add the accent over the “e”. OK, probably not.

And the paveing [sic] between Buckthorn and Hunter Mill was done by early afternoon on Thursday! The equipment was still there Thursday afternoon, but was gone by Friday afternoon.
