If I end up getting on my stupid bike tonight at 11:15 after a 17-hour day, it will be entirely your fault, D. And you will feel my wrath at the BAFS Pointless Prizes happy hour, too.

I think someone’s mood might improve after a bike ride…

From the SSW to SW before 6 shifting to from the west around 8. By 11, it should be from the NW. NW to SE KOMs can be earned tomorrow morning.

So I get a tailwind going and coming? And here I didn’t think this bike commute week could get any better…

It’s been a glorious and refreshing and invigorating week of riding so far.

Does anyone have a sail I can borrow to beat my record up the 15th St hill this evening?

There was a sailboat by the reflecting pool west of the Capitol this morning. They have one.

PS. They had a little table set out with bagels. Is it bad form to ride by and grab one?

Looking forward to the sand and residual salt on the trails getting washed away.

Ok, the first band of showers went through Rosslyn with little effect, just the strong winds coming in. Maybe I can skip the wearing the sail when heading home.

Riding west and then south was uh….not fun. I could see rain clouds several miles off to the south, but it was sunny in my immediate vicinity for most of my ride….but I was still getting sprinkled on.

There are maybe a dozen days a year when I have any restriction at all on when I can leave the office. Of course today is one of them. I should be home by now, but instead I’m stuck here twiddling my thumbs until I can go home.

What really worries me – getting my shoes wet. They probably won’t dry by tomorrow and it’s supposed to be COLD on the way in. That bothers me. Rain and wind are fine, my commute is short.

I use my wife’s blowdryer. Works like a charm.

Hmm, that’s a good idea. I’ll try that.

if you don’t have a blow dryer you can stuff crumpled up newspaper in your shoes and replace with dry newspaper every couple of hours and put shoes on radiator or heating vent.
