Fair enough. Still funny to me, though, since one of the bikers with that shirt on today must have weighed 400 pounds and had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. 😮 Seems like he might want to take some other steps in order to “live”.

You should have suggested that to him.

I’m familiar with that from Aerostich (makes/sellers of awesome motorcycle stuff).

My Latin teacher father would be scandalized at the very idea of Google Translate.

I dunno, since beergut is the subject here, we might need the nominative case, not the accusative :-)

I resemble that remark. Anyone ever seen any data on the percentage of motorcyclists that ride bicycles verse car drivers that ride bicycles?

Jens had that on his bike in the US Pro Cycling Challenge in CO a few weeks ago. Pretty neat. Gotta love Jens!

I think that’s actually a picture of his bike. You can see the RadioShack logo on the frame too.

Almost every motorcyclist I know of personally has been involved in a serious accident at some point. I can’t say the same for cyclists. According to this page (from a law firm that specializes in motorcycle and bicycle cases), motorcyclists are 30 times more likely to be killed and 9 times more likely to be injured in an accident, compared to a vehicle driver. They cite 2008 statistics from NHTSA.

True, I don’t know that many motorcyclists. But I doubt I’ll ever get a motorcycle. I’ve ridden on the back of one, a while ago. Probably won’t do that again.

Oddly enough, despite having a number of interesting unplanned motorcycle dismounts (including one in which an electrician’s van drove over my arm), all my bad injuries have been bicycle-related.
Cracked vertebrae, broken collarbone, and a couple of nasty concussions—all on the bicycle.
    C’est la vie.
Or, better yet—Ca plane pour moi.

I tried to adopt “Let it Go” this year. I even have it framed on my desk at work in a frame with a bicycle chain.

But, I am really bad at it. For example, this morning I spent at least 30 extra minutes getting to work because I called in every car parked in the bike lanes to 311 while running errands before work. I even exchanged words with a few of the drivers. I think I need more practice.

The cheapest way to shave weight from my bike is to remove it from the rider.

    Or.

My bike, like its rider, is built for comfort – not speed.

    Ride safe, have fun.

It’s kinda our house motto, said by most of those staying behind when anyone leaves on a bike.

I think this is the awesomest thing.

The family that rides together, stays together!
