“Not all those who wander are lost”

    not-all-those-who-wander-are-lost-orlando-espinosa.jpg

Applies to cycling, hiking with dogs, and geocaching

“I’m not smug, my choices are just better than yours.”

Kind of a life motto really, but it’s particularly pertinent to cycling.

    Also available as a bike

Jens had that on his bike in the US Pro Cycling Challenge in CO a few weeks ago. Pretty neat. Gotta love Jens!

Every spin is a spin you never thought you’d have again.

If I’m not playing around in traffic and with no one around me, I would say, harder faster, and then a good old Michael Scott, “that’s what she said” after it.

Well that Google translate challenge couldn’t go unanswered.

    cervisia ventrem

My Latin teacher father would be scandalized at the very idea of Google Translate.

My MTB motto is “up at any cost, down as fast as possible”.

My road motto is “try not to get killed”. :p

There’s always the classic, “Ride to Live. Live to Ride.”

I first heard that one in a cycling context. I think it’s on some stickers from ACA, too. I saw it today on some tee-shirts being worn by all the motorcycle riders in town for 9/11, though the first part of the phrase seems MUCH much more applicable to a cardiovascular exercise activity like cycling than riding a motorcycle. That’s not to dis motorcycle riding. It’s something I’ve become increasingly interested in with time. It just seems a lot less aerobic than cycling.

I think the bikers are suggesting a psychological and spiritual benefit from their hobby rather than a cardiovascular one.

A one horsepower motor sounds weak until your realize that you are the horse.

Yes, Mr. Elite Cyclist, I don’t mind if you pull the draft for a while, don’t mind me while I suck on your wheel, thanks for not startling me by quielty passing me within inches with no warning, while threading the needle; yes I’m still back here. Yes i do intend to pass you, uphill, on my heavy hybrid commuter; you in your pained tuck, me smiling and wishing you a nice ride. – okay more of a rant, than a motto.

Stolen from the State of Maine – Dirigo (I lead). (not Pb)

One horsepower is 745 watts. That’s a lot of watts.

You’ve obviously never ridden Mikey’s pedicab.

Fair enough. Still funny to me, though, since one of the bikers with that shirt on today must have weighed 400 pounds and had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. 😮 Seems like he might want to take some other steps in order to “live”.

I’m familiar with that from Aerostich (makes/sellers of awesome motorcycle stuff).
