In coordination with the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project, the Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee conducts a count in Alexandria 2 – 3 times a year. Counting people who are cycling, walking and running on or along Alexandria streets and trails helps demonstrate the need for trails, sidewalks and bike facilities and can inform the planning process. Volunteers are needed for these counts on Thursday May 7th (5-7pm) and Saturday May 9th (12-2pm).

Please review our count locations below and reply back with your preference. Early responses are more likely to get the location they prefer.

    1)
___ I can count from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, May 7th
___ I can count at any location in the City.
___ I would prefer to count at location letters ___, ___, or ___.

    2)
___ I can count from 12pm-2pm on Saturday, May 9th
___ I can count at any location in the City.
___ I would prefer to count at location letters ___, ___, or ___.

A tally sheet and training package will be sent to volunteers about a week before the count. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me!

    Thank you,
