Vienna Metro Secure Bike & Ride is Now Open!

Saw today that the Bike & Ride room has a sign that says it’s now open. I am not sure when that happened, no news at WMATA web site, except that the one at East Falls Church opened on August 23rd.

You need to register and wait 24-48 hours for confirmation email before using it. You just use your SmarTrip card to access it afterward. I don’t see any fees.

Registering and signing up today. What a great upgrade.
Now that there’s a mostly active I-66 Parallel trail I can even bike over there with less danger.

After registering and requesting I got a nice email reply:

Hello Chris,
WMATA no longer allows virtual Smart Trip cards to access the bike and ride facilities. You can register a physical Smart Trip card instead. Send me the 20-digit Smart Trip card number on the back of your card (number should begin with 0167) and I will register it.
